Jacobs Construction Manager -- Calgary AB in Calgary, Alberta

As a Construction Management Professional, you’ll join our collaborative team providing our clients with award-winning planning, engineering, architectural design, construction management, and design-build project delivery. We’re looking for a passionate Construction Professional in Calgary, Alberta who is driven by collaboration, exceeding expectations, and challenging the status quo. By developing and delivering on project scopes, budgets, reports, contracts, and schedules, you’ll help our team achieve our client’s objectives. Your keen ability to multi-task, communicate effectively and tackle project challenges will allow you to thrive in our fast-paced environment. The Construction Manager position will focus on adherence to construction schedule and budget, and compliance with contract terms and conditions as well as City construction standards. Working together, we’ll help you grow and pursue what fulfills you so that we can make impacts on the future - big and small, global and local. This position will be a project specific hire with an estimated contract term of 18 to 24 months.

Key Roles and Responsibilities of this position include:

  • Demonstrates commitment to health and safety on the project.

  • Chairs regularly scheduled construction progress meetings and attends internal meetings with Client/Jacobs team.

  • Oversees project materials are supplied and monitors the progress and challenges.

  • Confirms that the project is built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and that quality standards are maintained.

  • Drives the construction schedule in conjunction with project team; confirming that project milestones, critical paths, and completion dates are met.

  • Leads dispute resolution, supported by Jacobs Engineers, with a focus on minimizing claims by the contractor.

  • Prepares monthly financial reports summarizing baseline budget, spending forecast, cashflow and year end projections.

  • Develops working knowledge of contract terms and conditions.

  • Provides monthly updates on project risk register.

  • Prepares the commissioning and final certificates.

'- Bachelor’s degree in in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Construction Management.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM) Certification.

  • Engineer in Training (EIT).

  • Demonstrated knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems and general building. maintenance Solid Waste projects.

  • Municipal construction management experience.
