The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare's Division of Family and Community Services has an exciting employment opportunity for aTechnical Records Specialist 1with The Children's Developmental Disabilities program, in Caldwell or Boise. This position provides customer service and supports for the west hub children's DD team and families we serve. In addition to answering incoming phone lines, other responsibilities include a variety of records support functions; reviewing and processing documents; managing case file records and scanning; maintaining a computerized records system; invoices payments; and other related work.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Providing customer service and communication with internal and external customers. This requires good public relations skills.

  • Process program invoices.

  • Compile, scan, and upload documents.

  • Maintain records, navigate various databases.

  • General office support duties; scanning; data entry; answer multi-line phone system.

  • Provide specialized information about agency programs and services to customers that call in.

  • Complete records requests, purchase orders general administrative duties for west hub team.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    You must possess all the minimum and specialty minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors. Typically gained by one year of full-time work experience.

  • Experience researching a variety of sources to collect and compile information with good knowledge of services, operations and programs. Typically gained by one year of full-time work experience. Two years of experience working 20 hours per week equates to one year of work experience.

  • Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying a variety of difficult rules, regulations, or policies to determine compliance or eligibility. These complex decisions could have affected the social or economic well-being of others or would result in a service or action being denied. Typically gained by one year of work experience.

  • Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system. Typically gained by six months of work experience.

SPECIALITY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience using spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel to create and modify electronic worksheets and design and print graphs.Includes complex data analysis using tools such as Pivot tables. Typically gained by one year of work experience.

    Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.

  • Experience interacting with customers via telephone and/or in person to identify their service needs and route them to an appropriate person or service to address their concerns.   • Demonstrated work experience working/relating with diverse groups of people.Typically gained by 6 months of volunteer or work experience assisting the public.
