Today, we are recruiting for a RAM and Safety Engineer to join our team in Egypt. This is an excellent career opportunity for professionals looking to join a truly international team in one of the biggest projects of Siemens Mobility.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Support to perform, implement, and support the process activities by the company policy as well as mandatory requirements, regulations, and international standards (e.g. EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, EN 61508, etc)

  • Support in planning, preparation, and conducting hazard workshops.

  • Support for preparing project-specific Safety Cases including technical safety reports and RAMS concepts, plans, and processes.

  • Responsible for performing and supporting the hazard mitigation process, preparing, and maintaining the hazard log, and managing the hazard close-out process, and the activities to perform the functional proof of safety.

  • Support in system integration tests and trial runs to prepare and perform the RAMS demonstration activities, and in the commissioning of complete solutions.

  • Work effectively with Client organizations with discretion and diplomacy and be able to influence outcomes with good judgment and decision-making.

  • Operate under the minimum of supervision and apply high standards of integrity and responsibility.

  • Create and maintain effective working relationships at all levels.

  • Encourage and enable teams to work effectively,

  • Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders and negotiate in formal settings involving multiple stakeholders.

  • Set targets within overall project objectives and be thorough, conscientious, and hard-working.

  • Communicate effectively to ensure that the project understands the RAMS requirements and that client acceptance of the RAMS submissions is obtained within the constraints of limited timescales.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • Engineering degree in Electrical/ traffic engineering with a focus on RAMS management, or comparable technical-based apprenticeship

  • Zero experience is required, fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

  • Basic experience in railway transportation systems, ideally in the systems business is desirable.

  • Basic experience in executing the area of RAMS management activities.

  • Basic knowledge and experience of system safety analysis techniques, engineering safety processes, and standards including EN 50126

  • Basic Knowledge of preparing System Safety Cases to meet EN 50129 and associated contractual requirements.

  • Basic knowledge of EN 50128, EN 50129, EN 62267, and NFPA 130, as well as the standards related to human factors.

  • Basic understanding of railway-related infrastructure including trackwork, station & tunnel M&E systems, and transit systems including rolling stock, signaling, communication, and power systems.

  • Fluent English is essential, good knowledge of further languages is desirable.

  • Due to the international orientation of the projects, mobility and willingness to travel are essential.
