The Community Energy Department began offering clean energy services to municipal facilities in late 2018 and to residents and commercial customers in 2019. The Community Energy Department is seeking qualified candidate who is passionate about the environment, driven, creative, and who have a desire to be part of making a difference in their community. This is an exciting opportunity to lead positive change and take ownership and pride in being a part of a newly created department at the City of San Jose as it becomes fully operational to provide a range of valuable services. The Department is currently seeking to fill an Analyst position in the Regulatory Compliance and Policy Division. This position reports to the Senior Power Resource Specialist of the Regulatory Compliance and Policy Division. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Support regulatory compliance and data request filings * Support the preparation of comments and position papers related to California Public Utility Commission and California Energy Commission regulatory proceedings and/or energy resiliency proceedings. * Manage systems to track, review, and analyze regulatory filings that could impact SJCE and its customers, and update the calendar of key regulatory issues affecting SJCE. * Support targeted research projects as needed * Support contract management for consulting services * Attend trainings and webinars to build the knowledge base of the policy team * Assist with note taking, scheduling, and strategic planning efforts. Salary Information:The total annual salary range for an Analyst I is $80,676.96 - $98,083.44.The total annual salary range for an Analyst II is: $88,058.88 - $107,016.00. These ranges include an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable pay. Actual pay shall be determined by the candidates' qualifications and experience. Education: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. A degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, Economics, Energy and Sustainability or a closely related field is desirable. Experience: * *Analyst I– None Analyst II– Two (2) years of increasingly responsible professional staff analytic or administrative experience conducting studies, organizing and analyzing data, and preparing reports, recommendations, or conclusions for a functional area in budget, finance, grant administration, organizational analysis, general administration, or human resources. /_Acceptable Substitutions_/ Experience as a Staff Specialist with the City of San Jose may be substituted for the education requirement on a year for year basis.
