Landscape Laborer position. 4 Landscape Laborer Temporary, Full-time seasonal positions available with Kregels Landscape Service LLC. from 03/01/2025-12/01/2025 at 6244 Ivanrest Ave. SW, Byron Center, MI 49315. Duties include to Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Performs a variety of task, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, and instillation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall unit, walks, or water features. The job will require the worker to: gather and remove litter; use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes; operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws, or rototillers; water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans; prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws; spray or spread fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides onto grass, shrubs, or trees, using hand or automatic sprayers or spreaders; care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, grubbing, removing thatch, or trimming or edging around flower beds, walks, or walls ; follow planned landscaping designs to determine where to lay sod, sow grass, or plant flowers or foliage; trim or pick flowers and clean flower beds; attach wires from planted trees to support stakes; plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools; mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edgers; rake, mulch, and compost leaves; decorate gardens with stones or plants; provide proper upkeep of sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, or other grounds features; haul or spread topsoil or spread straw over seeded soil to hold soil in place; install rock gardens, ponds, water features, retaining walls; dispose of trash or waste materials; trim trees or other vegetation; treat greenery or surfaces with protective substances; maintain equipment or systems to ensure proper functioning; cultivate lawns, turf, or gardens; clean facilities or sites; install equipment to protect or support trees; plant greenery to improve landscape appearance; remove debris from work sites. The job will require the worker to be exposed to weather/outdoor, noise, hot/cold temperatures and to wear common protective/safety equipment. The job will require the worker to have attention to detail, thorough in completing work tasks, cooperative, and responsible. Entry level; requires supervision. No minimum education or work experience required.
*Special Requirements: *The job will require the worker to perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs and moving the whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, extensive bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Terms & Conditions of Employment: The work schedule is from Monday-Friday 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM. The worker may be offered more than the stated hours per day, depending on weather and other conditions. Extreme heat, cold, rain, or drought may affect exact working hours. The wage rate is no less than $18.65 per hour with at least 40 hours per week. Overtime hours are available as needed varying from 1-17 hours at $27.98 per hour.
Availability of On-the-Job Training: The employer will provide on-the-job training to all workers.
