About this position:
The Meter Shop Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of field personnel, managing electric and gas testing programs, technical metering support, metering purchase specifications and inventory, along with designing and coordinating metering projects.

About this job:
Demonstrate leadership consistent with NorthWestern Energy's code, values, policies, processes and controls
Provide oversight and direction in the department area in accordance with the organization's goals, policies and procedures
Perform supervisory duties of field personnel, gas and electric
Provide on-site technical assistance as needed
Develop or modify electric and gas metering test procedures and programs
Review the results of the meter tests and determine solutions for failed results
Design, estimate, and manage metering projects
Lead special projects and utilize change and project management techniques as required
Plan, evaluate, and improve the efficiency of business processes and procedures
Coordinate with project teams including substation, transmission, relaying, and communications
Support department as needed for effectively working with other company departments such as engineering, load research, customer billing and distribution operations
Provide technical support for engineering, load research, substation and distribution operations
Use of safe work practices in the design, construction, and maintenance facilities
Travel to jobsite, trainings, and seminars (up to 20% travel per year)
Perform individual lifts of supplies and materials weighing up to 35 pounds
Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Regularly communicate with direct manager on metering department activities

Am I right for this job? Here's the success profile:
An engineering degree (Electrical Engineering preferred), or equivalent technical training required
A general knowledge or demonstrated practical knowledge of gas and/or electric metering highly sought after
Prior supervisory experience a plus
Strong leadership skills including interpersonal communication skills
Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record
A general knowledge of gas and electric operations preferred
Good understanding of electric power systems and electric circuit analysis techniques
Working knowledge of Company safety and environmental policies and procedures and their application
Effective oral and written communication skills
Customer service skills
Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required
