Reference #: R07243\ Cleveland-Cliffs, Butler Works, is looking for a Shift Manager in our Rail Transportation Department. The Shift Manager will effectively and efficiently manage safety, equipment, and personnel to provide an incident free quality rail service to our plant operations. The ideal candidate is collaborative and team-oriented and has the ability to adapt rapidly to changing circumstances while remaining calm under pressure.

Summary of Responsibilities\ Supervise, schedule and provide work direction for hourly union employee and the rail service maintenance group.\ Assign manpower and equipment as necessary to load, unload, and move all types of railroad cars using mobile scrap handlers, diesel electric locomotives, diesel locomotive yard cranes, hydraulic scrap handlers, and a two-way interplant radio system.\ Adjust as necessary to outside rail services to ensure proper delivery and exit of loaded and empty rail cars to the outbound rail.\ Interface with contractors and operating departments to efficiently meet requirements of on-time delivery on a consistent basis.\ Perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications\ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a rapidly changing environment.\ Excellent communication skills.\ High degree of attention to detail.\ Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays.\ Proficient computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications\ Two years of experience in a rail coordination or yardmaster position.\ Associates or Bachelor\'s degree in Logistics, Business Management, Mechanical Engineering.\ Union supervisory experience.
