Job Title: Sr. Buyer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled S r. Buyer to join our dynamic team in Burnaby. As a Sr. Buyer, you will be responsible for procurement activities, vendor management, and negotiating contracts to secure advantageous terms. Your duties will include utilizing Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to plan and procure materials, leading on inventory replenishment planning processes, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining an accurate database of suppliers and products. You will also collaborate with our Business Development team regarding potential vendors and products, liaise with our Customs Broker and logistics department, and work closely with our management team to review carrier and logistics options.

Hard Skills

  • 5+ years experience within purchasing

  • Software: ERP (any) + MS Office (intermediate - PivotTables ideal)

  • Strong proficiency with scheduled inventory cycle counts

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor management approaches, and negotiation techniques

  • Knowledge of purchasing cycle, import/export regulations and compliance

  • Understanding of customer / supplier purchase order contract management

  • Proficiency in MRP systems and other procurement software

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Detail-oriented

  • Strong analytical skills

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Burnaby, British Columbia.

Work Environment

Our work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5pm. This position is on-site with transit available and limited parking. The Sr. Buyer will lead one buyer on the team and liaise with Operations Managers in Burnaby/Edmonton for purchasing strategy, Finance/AP teams, and Sales teams to determine inventory projection
