WSP USA Equipment and Logistics Coordinator in Burnaby, British Columbia

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a proactive hands-on Equipment and Logistics Coordinator to join our team in the South Burnaby warehouse facility. This role will focus on management, maintenance, and general support for our proprietary specialized in situ testing equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for procurement, maintenance, repairs, shipping and receiving of both hydrogeological and mine geotechnical testing equipment and consumables. Additional duties include equipment calibration, invoicing, and research and development activities. This position requires a blend of technical knowledge, organizational skills, and willingness to learn.

Part time and full time options available. Fieldwork opportunities may also be available.

What you can expect to do here:

  • Management of Specialized Hydrogeological and Geotechnical Testing Equipment: Oversee the inventory, usage, and condition of specialized hydrogeological and mine geotechnical testing equipment. Ensure equipment is adequately maintained and prepared for operation on remote sites.

  • Equipment Maintenance and Repairs: Conduct regular maintenance and repairs of the testing equipment to ensure it is in compliance with industry operational standards. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.

  • Shipping and Receiving: Coordinate all shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely and accurate handling of equipment and materials. Manage inventory levels and documentation.

  • Procurement: Source, evaluate, and procure both hydrogeological and mine geotechnical testing equipment, as well as consumables.

  • Equipment Calibration: Perform and document calibration of equipment to ensure precision and adherence to industry standards. Implement quality control measures to guarantee equipment accuracy.

  • Invoicing: Prepare and process invoices related to equipment use for financial tracking and reporting.

  • Research and Development: Contribute to research and development efforts by staying informed on industry trends, new technologies, and innovations. Support the implementation of new solutions to enhance equipment performance.

What you'll bring to WSP:

  • Education: Highschool Diploma, technical diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Engineering, Geology, Business Administration) or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: Experience in equipment management or use (or a similar role) preferably in mining, drilling, or hydrogeological fields.

  • Skills: Adherence to occupational health and safety protocols;

  • Organizational and project management skills;

  • Willingness to learn;

  • Strong mechanical aptitude;

  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills;

  • Proficient in using Microsoft office, excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint;

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively;

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;

  • Effective communication with internal clients including field staff and project managers, and external suppliers.

Certifications:

  • Valid BC drivers license

  • Forklift certificate considered an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.

  • Capability to perform tasks involving standing, bending, and lifting.

Compensation:

Salary range (in British Columbia): $69,600- $95,800

The final salary awarded for this role may vary from the above range based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. The salary range provided in this job posting may be subject to change for business purposes.
