Job Description

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the hands-on oversight of a maintenance team that safely and efficiently supports a 24/7 manufacturing environment. The Maintenance and Reliability Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, scheduling, assigning, and overseeing day-to-day maintenance work, performing a variety of responsible duties related to the supervision of maintenance activities, as well as training, supervising, and evaluating the work of employees. This is a highly collaborative position and requires strong organizational, planning, follow-up, and communication skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identify, modify, adjust, and repair mechanical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic parts and equipment.

  • Read and interpret technical drawings or diagrams including blueprints, schematics, and mechanical renditions.

  • Utilize a variety of power tools, hand tools, gauging, and measuring equipment safely and correctly.

  • Improve equipment reliability to minimize downtime, improve efficiencies, and produce a high-quality product to specification in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Participate in purchasing maintenance materials and outside technical services in accordance with established company protocol and procedures.

  • Assist in the establishment and implementation of a systematic preventative maintenance program with the Maintenance and Reliability Manager.

  • Investigate equipment failures and unexpected breakdowns and provide corrective actions to improve reliability and performance.

  • Monitor parts requests to ensure adequate inventory and cost efficiencies are being met according to departmental budget.

  • Lead Maintenance-related CI (continuous improvement) tasks and report back to management with status updates.

  • Facilitate the selection of appropriate resources (contractors, suppliers, etc.) to minimize costs and ensure on-time and on-budget completion.

  • Ensure, enforce, and adhere to all legislative requirements.

  • Enhance the motivation and team spirit of all operation staff.

  • Minimize the risk of accidents and pollution.

Manufacturing - Very hot - machines generate a lot of heat, clean, steel toes required, no medical certifications required.
