Eaton Corporation Product Specialist in Burlington, Ontario

Eaton is currently seeking a Product Specialist. This position will be based at our Burlington, ON location and benefits will be offered from Day 1.

What you’ll do:

The Product Specialist, Switching Devices & Power Management Products provides support to sales staff, channel partners and customers in pre-sales through post-sales capacity. The individual has key responsibility for the technical and commercial support for Safety switches, Surge products, Power Factor correction capacitors and commercial meters. The primary functions of the position is to provide full resolution to technical product queries (from onset to closure), support strategic product roadmap (including execution of new product introduction and product retirements), perform price reviews and assist in other marketing functions.

  • Launch new products and liaison with global teams for new product development.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for Eaton sales teams, EatonCare, and all customers (external & internal) on the Switching Devices & Power Management Products family.

  • Provide technical product support by responding to customer technical requests including product applications, cULus, CSA code requirements and troubleshooting failure.

  • Lead the development/maintenance of supporting marketing collateral, including catalogues, presentations, application guides, product aids and new product launch materials.

  • Work effectively with internal sales organization and external customers to provide timely and comprehensive quotations and understanding of products while employing value creation strategies to maximize profit margins.

  • Manage and support day to day customer and tactical activity as needed such as order expedites, supporting warranty administration, etc.

  • Update/maintain product information including set-ups and retirements in different ERP system like Oracle, Global Vista, PDH.

  • Provide product training of assigned product lines to internal and external customers.

  • Support development and implementation of both strategic and profit plan objectives for Switching Devices & Power Management Products.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technologist Diploma from an accredited institution

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the electrical industry in sales, marketing, engineering and/or project management

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within an 80-km radius of the specified job location(s) will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical Professional Designation (P.Eng., CET, C.Tech.).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing or engineering

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of MS Office; with strong experience with Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability

  • Ability to learn market influences

  • Manufacturing / operations awareness, understanding, and financial impact to product line performance

  • Understanding of power distribution and/or electrical machine control systems, applications, and their associated components
