The Town of Burlington is seeking an individual to perform skilled manual work in the repair and maintenance of town buildings and operation of cemeteries, under the direction of the Superintendent of the Buildings & Cemeteries Division.
Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

Performs excavation work and laboring duties related to cemetery internments
Operate specialized and heavy equipment such as dump trucks, front-end loaders, backhoes, p e rf o r m m a nu al l a b o r i n ci d e n tal t o t h e w o rk o f o p e r a ti n g assi gn e d e qu i p me n t ; s e r v i c e a n d m a i n tain e qu i p me n t
Operate snow removal vehicles
Perform laborer’s duties when not assigned to equipment operation
Operate hand tools, mowers, jack hammers, air compressors, clippers, cutting tools and related equipment
Subject to emergency recall
Assist in building department duties when necessary
Minimum qualifications include
Must possess a CDL Class B License
Must possess a Hoisting License 1B, 2A, 4E and 4G
Applicants without the necessary CDL and Hoisting Licenses may be considered under certain conditions
Must have the ability to operate trucks with a rated capacity of more than three tons up to nine tons
Ability to operate hoisting equipment such as backhoes, front-end loaders, 125 CFM compressors, sidewalk rollers, highway sanders and similar equipment used in Public Works construction and maintenance
Must be available for emergency snow removal and able to plow roads
This is a full time union position, 40 hours per week, within the Department of Public Works bargaining unit. Salary is within Group 86 of the DPW contract.
Pay range starts at $29.12/hr, providing annual salary increases to a maximum rate of $40.63/hr, and includes comprehensive and generous benefits.
