High School Student Positions to Assist Summer Enrichment Robotics Program - 2024 Positions: There are positions available for Burlington High School students to assist with the summer enrichment program at the Memorial Elementary School. Dates/Times: July 8 through August 1, Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 am -1:00 pm The program is broken into two sessions: July 8th/15th Session 1 and July 22nd/29th session 2. Students can work one or both sessions. Description: Students will act as support staff to the summer enrichment robotics program teachers. Such duties include arriving on time, supporting pairs of students with different stages in the robot and programming design process as needed, supporting the educators and students lego and device management, and other small tasks that arise as the program goes forward. The program uses Lego WEDO kits which are a step down from the types commonly used at the middle grades. Programming looks a lot like Scratch Junior. Preference is for students with previous robotics experience. These positions are grant-funded from a STEM Internship grant from the state. Hiring & Compensation: Students will be required to complete school payroll paperwork and a form for the state of Massachusetts. Pay is $15 per hour, up to 20 hours per week.
