Meta Internal Communications Manager, Reality Labs in Burlingame, California

Summary:

Meta is looking for an Internal Communications Manager to support Reality Labs and the company’s Chief Technology Officer. This role is part of the Internal Communications team and it is an individual contributor position. This person will be responsible for developing and executing internal communications strategies for a growing, innovative, global organization. This person will serve as a counselor to the Chief Technology Officer, working with the leadership team and key stakeholders to reach internal audiences in order to articulate organization-wide strategy, building confidence and trust in leadership, and rallying employees around the organization's ambitious goals.Candidates should be passionate about the services Meta provides, the innovative technology we build, and the people that we serve. Candidates must have an understanding of internal communication methodologies, including change communication, measurement and analysis, and hybrid event production. Strong writing and editing skills are essential—specifically the ability to communicate complex, technical concepts to diverse audiences in a clear and concise manner via written and video communications. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who excels at collaborating with executives and colleagues to deliver high-quality work. They must possess strong organizational skills and should be capable of managing multiple cross-functional projects end to end. Additional qualities that will serve you well in this role: attention to detail, agile approach to project management, aptitude for prioritization, and confidence in taking risks and thinking outside the box.

Required Skills:

Internal Communications Manager, Reality Labs Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and execute communication initiatives for the Chief Technology Officer and Reality Labs organization.

  2. Partner directly with the Chief Technology Officer and leadership team on their internal communication priorities and change management initiatives.

  3. Provide proactive and reactive messaging that supports initiatives/launches and program rollouts.

  4. Understand the unique needs of product, engineering, and business teams (goals, products, tools, process) in order to produce effective and relevant communication strategies.

  5. Write and develop messaging around various topics, including organizational and company strategy, priorities, product launches and announcements.

  6. Identify opportunities to share organization milestones with the company.

  7. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement consistent messaging across the organization.

  8. Partner closely with other internal and external communications teams as well as HR, Diversity Equity & Inclusion, and Business Leads to align on communication opportunities.

  9. Manage internal forums (Workplace Groups) and internal org events (All Hands

  10. Q&As) which include creating narrative themes, developing executive messaging, and consulting on other speakers’ content.

  11. Implement data measurement and analysis strategies to guide communications best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of professional experience working in internal communications, corporate communications, political campaigns, or nonprofit mission-driven communications. Minimum 3 years of dedicated internal communications experience.

  2. Experience counseling and influencing C-suite executives.

  3. Experience producing content for internal audiences at varying levels across an organization.

  4. Experience writing and turning complex information into relevant, engaging, timely and valuable content.

  5. Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  6. Experience communicating to an employee population of technologists and engineers.

  7. Experience in solving problems using judgment, data measurement, and analysis, providing practical, timely and effective communications guidance and support.

  1. Experience in public relations, journalism, branding and campaigns.

  2. Experience in the technology industry.

  3. Experience leading internal communications for a globally distributed and hybrid workforce (remote and in-person).

  4. Experience in solving problems using judgment, data measurement, and analysis to provide practical, timely and effective communications guidance and support.

Public Compensation:

$174,000/year to $242,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
