Summary:

The Reality Labs Art Organization brings together world-class experts to pioneer the future of social, virtual, and augmented reality applications. We are looking for an Art Lead to join our Avatar Expressions team to help build and scale personalized Avatar experiences across our portfolio of products.The ideal candidate will demonstrate hands-on development, a background in storytelling, character appeal, fast iteration, and a commitment to design excellence.

Required Skills:

2D Art Lead Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for executing visuals based on concept strategy created by the Art Director.

2. Responsible for creating clear, appealing, and emotive visual concepts that represent a global audience.

3. Responsible for providing cross-disciplinary direction on visuals to animators and artists.

4. Work with Animation Leads, Art Directors and other necessary leads to oversee the quality of the final visuals, with particular attention to appeal and readability.

5. Educate internal and external team members on visual appeal and narrative within product and technical constraints.

6. Help concept out new avatar-based expression products across the Meta portfolio.

7. Manage expectations for key stakeholders including Art Directors and the Art Managers regarding the execution of quality Avatar content.

8. Work with Art Producers to forge creative partnerships with external vendors in order to scale up the production, either in terms of conceptual designs or building 3D visual assets.

9. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to strengthen and scale the production pipeline.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Portfolio demonstrating an understanding of characters, storytelling and visual systems.

2. Experience adapting and evolving conceptual / creative skills to serve a global audience.

3. Experience working with remote teams and communicating and collaborating across various disciplines.

4. Experience leading, pitching and collaborating with senior leadership teams on large scale projects.

5. Experience designing within unique creative/technical constraints and driving successful visual compromises in response.

6. Resilience working on high stakes, high impact projects.

7. Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and llustrator.

8. Experience and knowledge of character based art processes and production pipelines.

2. Experience adapting work to new immersive mediums such as 3D and VR.

3. Proficient in Figma

4. Experience with high quality Environment design.

Public Compensation:

$121,000/year to $171,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
