Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Assistant performs various duties to help ensure that incoming parts and materials meet the need for manufacturing products. Responsibilities include interacting with transportation providers, data entry, and counting of raw material delivered. The Shipping and Receiving Assistant works in Burgaw, NC and partners with the Logistics team to provide support to the warehouse and our customers.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee and perform inventory receiving for incoming parts and material necessary for manufacturing products.

  • Physicallyhelpcounttherawmaterialandcontrolticketsthatarerequired.

  • Properly notify and/or deliver incoming material to the appropriate person and/or department.

  • Complete daily receiving entries.

  • Provide documents to Accounting, Purchasing, and other functional areas when required.

  • Interact frequently with transportation providers, including brokers, agents, dispatchers, and drivers.

  • Occasionally operate business machines.

  • Ability to successfully obtain licensing and safely operate forklift and other powered industrial equipment for transporting materials in accordance with plant safety policies.

  • Responsible for conformance to plant standards of safety, quality, production and efficiency.

  • Cleans and maintains the work area in accordance with plant standards.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Must have good performance, safety, conduct, and attendance record.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

  • Frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and balancing

  • Frequent use of eye, hand, and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery

  • Required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls

  • Oral and auditory capacity enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

  • The employee will be required to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times throughout the work shift

Under This Roof, We Require

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years related experience in manufacturing, distribution, production planning, and/or trucking environment.

  • Ability to read and write in English and utilize a computer for data entry, typing, and proofreading. Prior experience using Google Suite is preferred.

Internal Applicant Requirement: Anyone having a corrective action at Level 3 or higher in the past 12 months is ineligible to apply.

Working hours: Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
