Disney Entertainment Executive Assistant, Business Affairs & Administration (Disney Entertainment Television) in Burbank, California
The Senior Vice President of Business Affairs and Business Affairs Administration at Disney Entertainment Television is seeking an Executive Assistant to support in their day-to-day job responsibilities, while demonstrating an ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines. The ideal candidate is a highly organized individual who has strong communication skills, excellent judgment, is a self-starter and has an ability to work with a high level of detail, while interfacing with a variety of team members, high-level executives (internally and externally) and production personnel. Strong time management and multi-tasking skills are essential. A high degree of confidentiality and discretion are required. Candidates should be prepared to collaborate to cover additional duties as needed.
The Disney Entertainment Television Business Affairs division makes up the BA and Administration teams that support 20th Television, 20th Television Animation, ABC Entertainment, Hulu, Disney Branded Television, FX, National Geographic and Searchlight Television. As an Executive Assistant, the candidate plays a key role on the support team. Seeking poised self-starters who have a strong understanding of the television business, can proactively anticipate needs, demonstrate follow-through and will be a collaborative team player.
Responsibilities:
Represent the office of the SVP of Business Affairs and Administration with a high level of professional etiquette and effectively communicate with teams at all levels across the DET studios and platforms and outside the company.
Manage special projects, generate reports requested by senior management and prepare meeting materials (e.g., compile grids and curate relevant information across multiple brands).
Provide support to Admin teams in connection with database and other software systems.
Maintain and update various charts and reports.
Serve as a point of contact for miscellaneous inquiries from inside and outside the company and conduct necessary research or direct them to the appropriate department or individual.
Collaborate in updating templates and policy guidelines.
Schedule meetings across departments and brands while respecting the need for flexibility and adaptability.
Answer phones, maintain log calls, prepare and track expense reports and various other administrative tasks.
Foster a positive, inclusive environment for all who interact with the office and teams.
Manage flow of information, documents and files in/out of office and department.
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years’ prior work experience at a high-volume desk at a production company, studio, platform, or talent agency, with a solid grasp of the television business.
Ability to multitask and prioritize, independently managing and disseminating a variety of assignments punctually and efficiently.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills, precise attention to detail, and commitment to follow-through.
Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of leadership and the ability to effectively liaise with productions, agencies, other studios, etc.
Collaborative working style and strong people skills, partnering with key stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Maintains a positive, professional demeanor under pressure.
Ability to anticipate the executive’s needs and effectively handle frequently changing priorities.
Maintain flexibility and adaptability, changing course of action quickly when necessary.
Approaches work with a strong sense of purpose, competence, authority and compassion.
Resourceful and critical approach to understanding and resolving issues.
Strong computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SAP Concur. Experience with NetDocs, AirTable, BLAST and IDeA preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting an SVP or above preferred.
Knowledge and passion for entertainment and media.
Legal or business affairs experience preferred.
Required Education:
- Four-year bachelor’s degree or other film/television-related undergraduate degree is preferred, or equivalent work experience.
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $58,712.00 to $78,760.00 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
