Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (BHPP) to Provide recovery support services in various settings to peers within the community to support, educate and provide services to advance recovery and wellness.

Assist peer members using recognized evidence-based practice peer support services to articulate their goals for recovery, while they learn and practice new skills, aiding them to monitor their progress, that supports them in their treatment; while modeling effective coping techniques and self-help strategies based on the peer support specialist\'s own recovery experience.

Give support to the Peer member, helping them advocate for themselves to obtain effective services, and to develop and implement their personal recovery plans.

Peer Support Specialist is a role model to peer member\'s; exhibiting competency in personal recovery with the use of coping skills; serves as a peer advocate and supporter, providing peer members information and peer support in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

• Support adult peers in regaining independence within the community and mastery over their own recovery process.
• Understand how the support services provided impact a peers recovery and contributes to their progression in the self-management of their recovery.
• Document the value of the services provided as evidence of outcomes in recovery.
• Perform in a wide range of settings such as in the wellness center, during transport, the peer or family home, in community based outpatient settings including community agencies, in-patient psychiatric hospitals, or retail stores, food banks, etc.
• Demonstrate varying levels of recovery and mental health symptoms.
