41908BRReq No.:41908BRJob Description and Qualifications: Air Products and Chemicals, Inc, a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases and chemicals, has an immediate opening for a CAD Designer in Buffalo, NY; Allentown, PA; or Houston, TX.
The CAD Designer will be a member of the Global Engineering organization. The Global Engineering organization provides functional engineering support to Product Lines for both product development and proposal development work, subsequently execute the engineering and design required for projects.
Overall job responsibilities focus on the collaboration with engineers to create and maintain Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and Process Flow Diagrams through the duration of a project or product development. Additionally, the CAD Designer will occasionally provide support for the Global Operations facilities to update existing drawings as a result of plant modifications.
Principle Accountabilities:
Use SmartPlant P&ID, MicroStation, and SmartSketch softwares daily.
Interpret detailed engineering markups to create and maintain Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and Process Flow Diagrams.
Liaise with CAD Designers in Air Products India Engineering Center to ensure project and product development workload meets schedule requirements and is completed within the required budget constraints.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Technical Degree or Certification in Graphic Design
0 to 3 years meaningful work experience
Experience crafting in drafting tools through degree certification
Preferred, but not required knowledge in the following CAD systems:
SmartPlant P&ID
MicroStation
SmartSketch
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam and/or Adobe
Motivated individual that can work efficiently and has a willingness to learn CAD systems
Able to adapt to and thrive in a fluid environment where priorities and directions may change regularly.
The ideal candidate must have the ability to communicate clearly and optimally with all levels of the organization.
Poses strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.
