Job Title: Fabrication & Welding Specialist

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Fabrication & Welding Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling critical piping and equipment components. You will work with a variety of materials such as HDPE, PVC, CPVC, and stainless steel, following detailed blueprints, schematics, and installation guidelines. The position involves both shop and on-site work, with opportunities to contribute to a range of projects from start-up to completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Weld fused pipe (HDPE), glued pipe (PVC, CPVC), and threaded pipe to meet project requirements.

  • Interpret P&ID, flow schematics, and fabrication drawings to ensure compliance with industry standards and quality guidelines.

  • Perform mechanical assembly tasks, including mounting equipment, instrumentation, and tank internals.

  • Use a variety of tools for fabrication, such as a torch, cutting tools, track burner, band saw, and lathe.

  • Carry out painting duties as needed, including surface preparation, degreasing, and painting.

  • Maintain shop and equipment by performing repairs and regular maintenance.

  • Participate in health and safety follow-up meetings and inspections to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Perform confined space entry and wear a respirator as necessary.

  • Handle on-site installation and start-up services, with occasional out-of-town travel.

  • Communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to ensure smooth coordination of tasks.

  • Demonstrate strong multi-tasking abilities to maintain efficiency during the workday.

  • Maintain punctuality and come prepared for work each day.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proficient in welding (MIG, TIG) and working with various piping materials, including fused, glued, and stainless steel piping.

  • Strong understanding of fabrication and blueprint interpretation.

  • Ability to perform mechanical assembly tasks and use various fabrication tools effectively.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Strong physical capabilities, including lifting and carrying up to 50+ pounds, climbing, balancing, and working in various physical conditions.

  • Capable of using basic math skills and measuring instruments for precise work.

  • Ability to operate a forklift is a plus.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Trade school certificate preferred, but not required.

  • Intermediate-level experience in welding and fabrication tasks.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00
