Evergreen Health Staff Pharmacist in Buffalo, New York

The Staff Pharmacist provides education and counseling to patients and filling of patient prescriptions. The Pharmacist is also assists with training and management of pharmacy technicians and volunteer pharmacists, ensuring policies and protocols are followed. As part of the Essential Functions for this position, the Staff Pharmacist:

  • Fills patient’s prescriptions and answers provider questions

  • Provides counseling on both prescription medications and over-the-counter medications in accordance to APhA guidelines

  • Provides exceptional customer service to all consumers

  • Assists in medication ordering and maintenance of appropriate inventory controls within the pharmacy

  • Assists in the procurement, storing and accounting of pharmaceuticals

  • Conducts drug utilization reviews as needed

  • Manages rejected claims

  • Provides troubleshooting functions for third party discrepancies and other prescription filling issues.

    Qualified Candidate will be registered with current New York State Pharmacist license. Experience working within a pharmacy setting, highly preferred. Experience serving specialty populations, including transgendered patients, highly preferred. Candidate must demonstrate typing and counting accuracy, in addition to keen attention to detail, time management and organizational skills. Sensitivity toward cultural diversity, HIV/AIDS and lifestyle and addiction issues essential.
