From your PASSION to ours

The Senior Sales Manager, Non Commercial will be responsible for the development, implementation, and execution of the Foodservice sales plans for the Non Commercial segment of the Foodservice business. This position is responsible for the achievement of sustainable, profitable sales volume within their assigned customer base, beginning with the top four contract management companies Compass Group, Aramark, Sodexo, and Delaware North, along with other contract management companies and GPO’s within C&U and the Healthcare industry. This individual is responsible for developing a more strategic approach to the Non Commercial segment, along with developing effective relationships at senior management levels within the segment.

This position will work closely with the Foodservice Sales team and shared functional resources (Marketing, Category Management, R&D, Supply Chain, and Finance), to manage and develop the Lactalis Foodservice business. This position will also work very closely with the Senior Management and the execution teams of our Broker Sales Agencies.

From your EXPERTISE to ours

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • All Non Commercial account responsibility in all culinary products and categories at corporate and field sales levels.

  • Develop and understand the Categories which we compete and the opportunities for the products that Lactalis American Group currently produces and develop recommendation for products/packaging that we don’t produce.

  • Identify key selling windows, promotional opportunities and key business development initiatives to gain new business and grow existing business with incremental promotional sales volume.

  • Responsible for the development and execution of the annual Non Commercial sales plan by customer to include product level budgets, margins requirements, program funding, and allowances by customer.

  • Direct responsibility for managing the product forecasting for all product categories at assigned accounts.

  • Work within the Foodservice Marketing and Category Management team structure to identify and pursue ideas, projects, and opportunities that have the highest sales and margin potential.

  • Close new business deals by coordinating requirements; work in conjunction with corporate customers for conversion opportunities; development and negotiating of pricing agreements and contracts; integrating contract requirements with the Trade Marketing team.

  • This position will work with the broker, sales representatives, and distributor sales representatives calling on large leverage operators within the Non Commercial segment

  • Maintain customer correspondence and price quote files to ensure that products purchased have the correct financial documentation and back-up so that sales volume through broadline distribution is tracked and ensures accurate billing

  • When necessary, represents Lactalis at trade shows and customer events.

  • Works closely with Sales Administration functions. Will ensure that support activities (Customer Service, Customer Accounting, and Reporting) are performed in a manner consistent with the overall department objectives.

  • Appraises and evaluates the performance of the immediate staff and recommends changes in status in accordance with established policy. Reviews and endorses proposed organizational and manpower plans for assigned areas of responsibilities. In addition, responsible for overall activities through training, assignment changes and performance measurement of assigned staff.

  • Organizes and participates in staff meetings to plan future activities, communicate and review progress of current programs and to report on the performance of the National Account sales force and support departments.

  • Approves the expense of direct reports, based on current guidelines and allowances.

  • Fully understand and utilize all company tools: Trend Pivot, CRM, Go Simple, Discovery, NPD, Technomics, Datassentials etc. to ensure broader development of skill sets and market knowledge.

  • Ability to travel in total on average 7-10 business days per month and manage within TNE annualized budget

Requirements

Qualified applicants will contribute the following:

Education & Experience

  • Years Bachelor’s degree Preferred.

  • 8-10 years related sales experience and/or training

  • Any additional culinary experience (active or passive) preferred

Specialized Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of Food Service sales and Market knowledge

Skills/Abilities

  • Sales planning, meeting customer needs using solutions-based selling

  • Non Commercial Account management, strong presentation/prospecting/negotiating/closing skills

  • Motivated and result driven

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills

Salary Description

$112,000-$130,000
