The Senior Quality Engineer will oversee the entire lifecycle of all established Plant Processes and product lines, from raw material goods in through to customer satisfaction and all manufacturing processes in between. The main objective is to support Quality assurance and control activities with the mindset of Right First Time to the customer. A hands-on mindset of continuous improvement within the process is critical to support the operations team.

Responsibilities:

  • Control of outsourced supply chain (raw material and finished product)

  • Manage KPI data from multi-site supply chain and react with corrective actions accordingly

  • Develop and manage relationship with customers to minimize charge back costs

  • Support a strategic plan to drive a world class quality experience for our customers

  • Support a culture of continued compliance to ISO9001, IATF16949 and customer (Tier 1, Tier 2) quality requirements

  • Contribute to the delivery of the quality requirements for the internal Alkegen supply chain, ensure relevant raw material specifications are established and verified during goods receiving, while ensuring the saleable production specifications are maintained and aligned to any applicable customer technical specifications

  • Design and develop trial opportunities to improve upon raw material, equipment, and process conditions, and to drive cost improvement activities

  • Utilize APQP, statistical analysis, PPAP, and problem solving tools to drive continuous improvement

  • Be an effective influencer in cross-functional teams to ensure both compliance and performance is aligned to both Business and Industry standards / expectations

  • Support of site Process Owners take accountability for the effectiveness and efficiency of the respective Key Processes they are responsible for

  • Act as a Champion for our site’s Quality culture and be able to influence and drive Quality initiatives and benefits to stakeholders at all levels

  • Participate in the continuous improvement culture at site, bringing a high level of engagement to the growth and optimization of the existing product and processes through risk-based thinking.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Chemical/ Mechanical/ Materials Engineering along with 7-10 years of experience in a Chemical/ manufacturing environment and/or technical role.

  • Demonstrated Lean Six Sigma experience with statistical analysis and problem solving (e.g. DOE) knowledge required.

  • Tier 1 automotive experience required

  • Experience in design, development, and implementation of research trials

  • High level understanding of quality tools APQP, Process Capability, Root Cause Analysis, G8D, DFMEA, PFMEA, MSA, SPC and Control Plans

  • Excellent people, communication, team building and organizational skills essential

  • Advanced computer skills in applications such as Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office Suite, Minitab

  • A team player, capable of working cross functionally to determine practical solutions to operational issues

Pay Range

$69,363.00 - $115,605.00 USD Annual
