Delaware North Senior Data Analyst in Buffalo, New York

The Opportunity

Delaware North is hiring a Senior Data Analyst to join our Information Technology team in Buffalo, New York. This new role serves as a thought leader and an influencer who understands the business needs and can translate those requirements to IT (Information Technology) thereby increasing the capacity of the analytics competency across the enterprise.

The Data Analytics Professional is responsible for moderately complex data analysis, preparation, and automation. They will use their technical and domain expertise to translate data into meaningful insights for teams and leaders to confidently take action on. The incumbent exhibits proficiency with the tools and technical skill-sets necessary for their area of responsibility. The ideal candidate should have applied analytics, data engineering and a citizen data science set of skills.

Pay

Minimum – Anticipated Maximum Base Salary: $66500 - $89900 / year

In addition to base salary, we offer an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan. The advertised pay range represents what we believe at the time of this job posting, that we would be willing to pay for this position. Only in special circumstances, where a candidate has education, training, or experience that far exceeds the requirements for the position, would we consider paying higher than the stated range. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of a Tableau center of excellence

  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of a Data Analytics & Automation Center of Excellence

  • Create training material to raise the competency of analytics across Delaware North

  • Collaborate across multiple teams to research, analyze, and configure complex data sources according to business needs

  • Manage projects to scope requirements for data marts to be used for analysis and coordinate input and approvals from multiple stakeholders across Delaware North

  • Automate reports and dashboards that enable managers, operators, and team members to better understand our business and facilitate key decisions

  • Identify gaps in reporting and business intelligence capabilities needed by divisions/departments and work on long-term solutions via automation to meet these needs

  • Automate reports and analyze data for departments that do not have analytics support

  • Participate in the identification, definition, and testing of company-wide metrics

  • Run cross-departmental projects with multiple contributors

  • Work independently with leaders across the company to identify opportunities for new data analysis and development of new self-service tools to improve productivity and outcomes

  • Collaborate closely with other analytics teams to implement new functions and data across the broader scope of the company

  • Mentor other Analysts and help them grow their skills drive growth

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university in Information Management, Computer Science, Computer Systems Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics or a related field

  • Minimum of four years of experience working in engineering/automation/data analytics roles with hospitality, food and beverage, and retail experience preferred

  • Ability to train and administer the tool sets (data engineering and analytics tool sets – SAS, Alteryx, R, Python, SQL)

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Understanding of standard data models/schemas

  • Experience working with large data repositories and/or relational databases

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
