Job Summary
Establishes quality standards for products and processes and suggest modifications meant to prevent defects in components or final products.
Job Duties
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, product management and production, to identify and mitigate quality risks.
Audit production processes, raw materials or suppliers/vendors to ensure that established quality standards are met.
Conduct root cause analysis for defects, non-conformities or other quality failures.
May be responsible for ensuring compliance with formal external quality standards, such as ISO 9001.
Complete all necessary documents fully and accurately.
Adhere to 5S standards (e.g., maintain cleanliness of work area, etc.).
Follow all Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
Perform work under direct supervision
Handle basic issues and problems and refer more complex issues to higher-level staff
Possess beginning to working knowledge of subject matter
Typically require a bachelor's degree and 0 to 2 years of experience
Competencies/ Skills
Intermediate verbal and written communication skills
Technical expertise
Ability to identify and seek needed information/Research skills
Problem-solving skills

Experience in quality for the automotive industry - Better yet, supplied to Ford and GM so they are already familiar with their requirements, websites, applications, terminology, etc.
Experience in scheduling and conducting internal audits of an IATF 16949 certified QMS
Can provide training certificate showing you are an IATF 16949 internal auditor (Better yet, certificate is for Lead Auditor class.)
Experience in scheduling and conducting internal audits of an Environmental Management System
Possess training certificate showing you are an ISO 14001 auditor
Working knowledge of Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC)
Working knowledge of Customer Specific Requirements for Ford and GM
Experience managing document control system: Quality Manual, Procedures, WI's, Forms, Stds
Familiarity with IMDS
Familiarity with EASE software
