CTG Project Manager III in Buffalo, New York

CTG is seeking to fill a Project Manager III opening for our client in Buffalo, NY.

Location: Buffalo, NY (Hybrid remote, must be in the office 3 days per week)

Duration: 12 months

Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Project Manager III to manage high priority and complex projects across multiple functional areas or businesses. In this role, you will drive project success from initiation to close, managing project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure timely and high-quality delivery. The ideal candidate will be proficient in both technical and non-technical project management and have experience in overseeing projects requiring significant resources and integration across various teams.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage high priority projects that impact three or more businesses or functional areas, or complex projects that require substantial coordination across multiple functions.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and forecasts, ensuring that all aspects of the project are effectively managed, including scope, risks, resources, and budget.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, establish project deliverables, and ensure alignment on expectations and project goals.

  • Oversee the creation of work breakdown structures, project organization charts, and risk, quality, communication, and resource plans.

  • Manage the execution of all tasks within the project plan, including ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.

  • Monitor and control project performance, identifying and addressing variances as necessary, and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

  • Use appropriate tools and techniques to track project progress and communicate performance updates to stakeholders.

  • Lead and support project teams, providing mentoring, coaching, and motivation to enhance team collaboration and performance.

  • Manage project changes and risks, implementing approved actions and workarounds to mitigate risks.

  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory standards, and risk management protocols as defined by the organization.

  • Foster a diverse and inclusive project environment that aligns with company values.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading and executing all aspects of high-profile, complex projects that affect multiple business functions.

  • Manages the project life cycle, ensuring all milestones are met, risks are managed, and stakeholders are kept informed throughout the process.

  • Accountable for ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget, while meeting or exceeding stakeholder expectations.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:

  • Provides technical and professional leadership to project teams.

  • Contributes to the strategic direction for the projects and helps mentor junior project managers and team members.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 4 years of proven project management experience; or

  • In lieu of a degree, a combined total of at least 6 years of higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 4 years of proven project management experience or 3 years of project management experience.

Required Skills:

  • Strong project management expertise with demonstrated success in managing large, complex projects.

  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

  • In-depth understanding of the Agile framework and the ability to apply Agile principles where appropriate.

  • Proficiency with project management software tools and other relevant business tools.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to new projects and maintain focus on high-priority tasks.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Active Directory and MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) systems.

  • Technical experience in managing projects with a focus on technology and system integration.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
