Our Position: We are currently seeking a full-time (40 hrs)Respite Program Managerto provide oversight to the Respite Service people we support.

This position also involves:

  • Oversees direct care services to people we support in areas such as, but not limited to activities of daily living, self-care skills, money management, cooking, self-administration of medication and communication skills.

  • Coordinates interviews and is responsible for hiring, orientation and termination of direct care staff employed in the Community Supports & Services Programs. Provides weekly and/or as needed supervision to all regular direct care staff. Evaluates all regular direct care staff annually.

  • Hybrid remote work available!

Our Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm.No nights, no weekends and no holidays!

Our Rate of Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour based on experience.

Our Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in a Human Service field, including but not limited to: Sociology, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology PLUS one-year direct service experience with the developmentally disabled.

    OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service field, including but not limited to: Sociology, Special Education, Rehabilitation Counseling and Psychology PLUS three years direct service experience with the developmentally disabled.

    PLUS
  • Have and maintain a valid New York State Driver’s License and an approved driving record. Ownership and access to an insured car in good operating condition is required.

Position Summary:

Provides oversight to Community Support Service individuals we support. Provides direct supervision to the direct care staff providing services. The Program Manager is responsible for the oversight of the delivery of these services and supports.

Provides support to families receiving In-home Respite service. Provides guidance to Respite Care Providers under the direction of the Community Programs Manager.

Reporting Relationship:

Receives direct supervision from the Coordinator of Community Supports and Services. Provides supervision to Direct Service Professionals employed in the Community Supports and Services Programs.

Respite Program Manager Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists the Coordinator of Community Supports in oversight of Respite services.

  • Maintains interactions with people we support, their families, other collaterals and the community-at-large as appropriate.

  • Immediately notifies Coordinator of Community Supports of any safety, supervision, scheduling or related issues as they arise.

  • Completes and maintains all required documentation in consumer and agency records; assists in the maintenance of those records.

  • Monitors service hours provided to families and relays concerns to supervisor.

  • Monitors Respite Care Providers’ work schedules and schedule changes.

  • Monitors participant satisfaction and service delivery. Reports findings to Coordinator of Community Supports.

  • Assists the Coordinator of Community Supports in assessing families’ request for service and the delivery of that service.

  • Holds regular staff meetings, trainings, conferences and any other assigned meetings.

  • Coordinates interviews and is responsible for hiring, orientation, and termination of direct care staff. Provides supervision to all direct support staff as needed. Evaluates all direct care staff annually.

  • Provides in-home respite care to people we support as directed by Coordinator of Community Supports.

  • Assures confidentiality of information about people we support and their families.

  • Completes routine paperwork responsibilities and other duties as assigned by Coordinator of Community Supports. Receives weekly and/or as needed supervision from the Coordinator of Community Supports.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service fieldPLUSone year experience in the Human Service field. Experience can be a combination of paid and volunteer experience with a minimum of three months paid experience.

OR

Associate’s DegreePLUSthree years experience in the Human Service field. Experience can be a combination of paid and volunteer experience with a minimum of one year paid experience.

Supervisory experience preferred.

Community Habilitation Program Manager Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees direct care services to people we support in areas such as, but not limited to activities of daily living, self-care skills, money management, cooking, self-administration of medication and communication skills.

  • Intervenes with people we support inappropriate and/or potentially injurious behaviors in the least restrictive manner possible. Coordinates development and monitors behavior modification programs as needed.

  • Oversees people we support overall safety through maintaining safety standards, familiarity with emergency safety procedures and ensuring regular training to people we support.

  • Communicates transportation needs to Care Coordinator. Provides direction to Community Habilitation DSP’s to assist with transportation needs on service delivery days. Works in connection with the Care Coordinator in scheduling of medical appointments and recreational activities.

  • Assures that people we support receive assistance and/or training for shopping for clothing, personal items and groceries as needed.

  • Provides assistance and oversight to people we support with personal monies. Monitors people we support’s progress in money management skills. Reviews management of people we support’s monies as needed.

  • Oversees self-administration of medication, provides first aid when necessary and communicates known health care needs to Care Coordinator.

  • Completes all required documentation for the people we support (i.e. monthly summaries) and agency records; oversees maintenance of those records as appropriate.

  • To the best possible extent, ensures a clean, safe environment by completing regular environmental quality assurance checks. Ensures people we support receive training in home safety.

  • Coordinates the development of intervention/training objectives. Implements, documents and monitors the progress of the Community Habilitation Plan.

  • Updates and monitors the plan as needed but at least every six months.

  • Monitors and/or assists in the assessment of the people we support’s skills and behavior.

  • Evaluates program data and progress.

  • Coordinates regular staff meetings and training as well as attend supervisory conferences and other assigned meetings.

  • Ensure that all regular staff meetings and training as well as attends supervisory conferences and other assigned meetings.

  • Assures confidentiality of information about people we support.

  • Monitors and follows procedures for staff expenditures in petty cash, mileage and other expenses.

  • Coordinates interviews and is responsible for hiring, orientation and termination of direct care staff employed in the Community Supports & Services Programs. Provides weekly and/or as needed supervision to all regular direct care staff. Evaluates all regular direct care staff annually.

  • Responds to emergency phone calls as part of the Agency’s emergency contact mechanism.

  • Completes routine paperwork responsibilities and other duties as assigned by the Coordinator of Community supports & Services. Receives weekly and/or as needed supervision from the Coordinator of Community Supports & Services.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Service field (preferred)PLUSone year experience in the Human Service field. Experience can be a combination of paid and volunteer experience with a minimum of three months paid experience.

OR

Associate’s DegreePLUSthree years experience in the Human Service field. Experience can be a combination of paid and volunteer experience with a minimum of one year paid experience.

Supervisory experience preferred.

The ability to operate business equipment; telephones, fax machines, computer hardware and software, including applications and programming, copiers, calculators, etc.
