Job Requirements:

The Product Manager provides leadership to insure sound planning for various product lines. The position is responsible for attaining profit, sales, and new-product goals for assigned product lines as well as identifying new product opportunities and implementing new product development/commercialization activities. An important component of the position is developing long-range growth and profit plans for assigned product lines. In addition, the incumbent will train the company and distributor sales personnel in use of assigned product lines. The Product Manager will develop appropriate distribution policies as necessary to promote assigned products and assure that product performance characteristics, pricing policy, packaging, capacity, and customer service are broadly responsive to the markets served. The individual holding this job must be proficient in the technical and operational management of the assigned products.


  • Achieve product line growth consistent with the Company's operating and long-term plans

  • Champion new product development efforts in the assigned product lines through leadership of new product development teams

  • Build price lists

  • Protect pricing integrity to insure consistent policies and practices across various product and market areas

  • Maintain product leadership by making certain that design, cost performance characteristics, and pricing allow Alkegen to achieve business objectives

  • Act as the "clearing house" for all competitive information in his/her product area

  • Manage product offerings with new and key targeted product lines to insure and optimize inventory levels while maintaining required customer service levels

  • Work with marketing communications manager to develop and implement a promotional plan to support product line strategies.

  • Achieve monthly rolling sales and profit forecasts for new products or key targeted products and performance against same

  • Partner with Applications Engineers, Customer Service, Market Managers, customers and sales personnel both domestic and international

  • Create Company’s value as a global market leader in assigned product lines by continually growing recognition of the Company as an applications expert and “go to” solution provider.

  • Advise and guide senior executives on technical issues and capabilities as well as business matters regarding product portfolio

  • Provide solutions to customer/industry challenges due to specialty expertise in the markets served

  • Interpret external technical challenges to the organization and recommends solutions to resolve challenges both internally and externally

    Qualifications/ Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience in Industrial Sales and Marketing preferably serving end markets with technical insulation/specialty fiber products

  • Understanding of financial measurement and reporting systems and a working relationship with the Control Branch

  • Knowledgeable of all Thermal Management products and applications

  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing product mix

  • B.S. Degree, Engineering Preferred, MBA preferred

  • Proficiency in Lotus Notes, Microsoft Office Suite, Financial Statement Analysis
