Insurance Verification Coordinator

Full Time – Monday – Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, No Weekends!

Rate of pay $22.00 to $24.00 hour

The McGuire Group, Absolut Care, Taconic Health Care and VestraCare is looking for an Insurance Verification Coordinator the Insurance Verification Coordinator will work with Insurance Companies to verify Insurance coverage and works collaboratively with Case Managers to ensure Medical codes are accurately submitted to the insurance company and is Responsible for verifying residents medical coverage for billing upon admission.

Job Description:Responsible for obtaining authorizaiton forms, verifiying insurance, medicaid, medicare for admission into Nursing Home. Coordinates data with MDS Coordinators to ensure patient scores are up to date. Submits clinical information to case managers and ensures proper medical documentation is submitted to insurance companies.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Knowledge of nursing home (SNF) billing a plus.

  • Experienced or ability to problem solve and quickly learn patient account system is desired.

  • Willing to train an ambitious candidate who is very organized, analytical, resourceful, self-motivated, detail oriented, and communicates well verbally and in writing.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Good time management with emails.

  • Obtaining authorizations from insurance companies.

  • Obtain authorization from Hospitals to Nursing Homes.

  • Verifying insurance and Medicaid and Medicare.

  • Follow up with authorization with the insurance company that the patients has.

  • Coordinated with the MDS coordinator to ensure scores are up to date.

  • Submit clinical information to the case managers and be able to understand Clinical records. And insure proper documentation with insurances companies.

  • Detail ICD 10 Codes.

  • Verifications of Medicaid and Medicare for primary payer

  • Interactions with the Hospital screeners.

Associates Degree or at least 1-2 years’ experience with Medical Billing preferred.
