Job Requirements:
The purpose of the Global H&S Lead is to support the Global SHE Director in the development and deployment of SHE strategy for Alkegen and partner the Business Unit Operations Leaders and Plant Managers in the deployment of their responsibilities in relation to the strategy. Ultimately, the Global H&S Lead is responsible for the reduction of accidents and incidents (including fires) within the business unit by creating and sustaining an interdependent safety culture where employees at all levels take pride in ownership and accountability for results.
Responsibilities:
Lead by example, promote and demonstrate the principles, vision and values of Alkegen
Establish strong leadership credibility, confidence and rapport across all l evels of the Global Business Unit
To be the subject matter expert for all Safety, Health and Environmental (SHE) matters and take the prominent role in leading the SHE agenda within the Business Unit they partner.
Manage the Internal SHE Management System Audit program inclusive of the following elements:
- Audit Schedule
Auditing
Development of robust risk based Corrective Action Plans
Global Audit Analysis
Management Review
Process Improvement
Ensure all statutory requirements as defined by country specific regulators are understood and systems to ensure compliance are developed and / or maintained
Profile the Business to identify and subsequently manage common areas of risk within the Business Unit
Develop a comprehensive knowledge and personally own all aspects of the SHE organization and performance in the Business Unit by working with the SHE professionals at each facility:
- SHE Objectives centered on continual improvement
Accident and Incident Investigation (RCA) with a focus on prevention and learning
Data Analysis - Identify trends in the SHE KPI's and develop programs to address short comings
Manage and where appropriate further develop Emergency Response Programs for each facility within the Business Unit, testing via a series of live drills and desktop exercises is essential
Support the Senior Global SHE Director and Business Unit Operational Leads in developing SHE strategy for the Business Unit
Work closely with Operational Leads at each facility to evaluate cultural improvements that can be made before developing bespoke delivery plans.
Qualifications / Experience
Internationally recognized Occupational H&S qualification e.g. Degree in Occupation H&S , Chartered Safety Professional
Internationally recognized Environmental qualification preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Proficient in Adaptive Coaching Skills e.g. listening, responding
Demonstrate experience of working with formal Management of Change systems (MOC) to reduce safety and operational risks.
Demonstrate experience in Process Safety Management techniques such as HAZOP is an advantage for the role
Demonstrate experience in application of behavioral safety management systems in order to drive an interdependent culture within a workforce
Excellent people, communication, team building and organizational skills essential
