Position Summary:

The University at Buffalo (UB) School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences ( SPPS ) Department of Pharmacy Practice (https://pharmacy.buffalo.edu/departments-offices/pharmacy-practice.html) , Division of Outcomes and Practice Advancement is seeking a clinical-track (qualified rank), 12-month faculty member at the Clinical Assistant Professor or Associate Professor rank, with expertise in inpatient acute care pharmacy.

Responsibilities:

Teaching:

The faculty member will be expected to coordinate and teach content in their area of expertise. The faculty member will be expected to maintain a shared clinical practice site in adult inpatient patient care, where they will train IPPE students, APPE students, and postgraduate residents/fellows. It is estimated that didactic teaching and experiential education will both represent 30-40% of the faculty member’s effort distribution.

Research/Scholarship:

The faculty member will advance the research mission of the UB SPPS . They will engage in collaborative research while developing an independent research program in their area of expertise and will publish/present their work nationally/internationally. It is estimated that research/scholarship will represent 20% of the faculty member’s effort distribution.

Service:

The faculty member will serve the Department, School, and University as agreed to with the Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Division Head for Outcomes and Practice Advancement. This will include, but is not limited to, active participation on committees, PharmD student admissions reviews/interviews, student advising, and mentoring of postgraduate residents and fellows. It is estimated that service will represent 10% of the faculty member’s effort distribution.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree.

  • A minimum of one year of postdoctoral training.

  • Candidates with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree must be licensed, or eligible for licensure in NY State.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate Year 2 Specialty Residency or Fellowship; BCPS , or other relevant BPS certification.

  • Track record of research support and peer reviewed publications commensurate with appointment faculty rank.
