Enterprise is a public charter school in Buffalo, New York educating children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Founded in 2003, ECS is committed to "Engaging young minds through projects and partnerships."
We pursue our mission through our Charter's key design elements, with our primary focus on highly engaging project-based learning, comprehensive arts education, and individualized instruction for enrichment and acceleration. Enterprise Charter School is seeking Building Substitute Teachers for the 2023/2024 school year. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree in Education and have a NYS certification in Elementary Education. Teachers who are not certified will meet one or more of the criteria listed in section 2854(3) (a-1) of Education Law.
Responsible for teaching students in grades kindergarten through 8thgrade through:
Implement lesson plans which adhere to the New York State standards and the philosophy of Project-Based Learning
Differentiate instruction for students in accordance with lesson plans
Understands and is familiar with program requirements of the Enterprise Charter School
Maintains an inviting, exciting, innovative, learning environment
Understands and is familiar with constructivist classroom methodology
Evaluate and track student progress
Utilize formal and informal assessments according to plans
Maintain open communication with teachers and administration
Engage in effective and appropriate classroom management
SCHOOL-WIDE COMPETENCIES:
Articulates and applies historical context of racism and understands the current reality of students and communities of color in order to support racial equity
Accountable for students' success and believes Enterprise's students must receive the highest quality education possible in order to close the achievement gap
Relentless commitment to mission of educating Enterprise's students
Actively demonstrates a commitment to supporting diversity, equity and inclusion
Serves as an advocate for racial equity with the school's colleagues, parents, students, community, and external stakeholders to promote equity in education and closure of the achievement gap
Demonstrates a racial equity mindset through awareness of biases and leads with a racial equity lens
QUALIFICATIONS
A demonstrated interest in impacting K-8 students in urban schools and communities
Understanding of formative and summative assessments. Expertise in i-Ready preferred
Demonstrated excellence in teaching
Skills in analyzing and using data to make instructional and behavioral decisions
Experience, knowledge and background related to NYS Next Gen Standards
Bachelor's Degree required, Master's preferred
Enterprise Charter School offers a competitive salary, health benefits and is a member of the NYS Teacher Retirement System. Buidling Substitutes are per diem and paid a daily rate of $150 per day.
