The Application Engineer plays a key role in the success of the Global Fire Protection Team, developing solutions for field sales, distributors, and customers both remotely and in-person, with job specific details utilizing sound engineering principles. Supports fire test programs and key customer projects. Manages and initiates the creation of technical collateral to support the commercialization of new system introductions and existing business. Assists in the design and evaluation of optimized Unifrax and customer-specific systems. Coordinates product testing and system certification conducted at independent test labs. Conducts training for new salespersons, distributors, customers and industry professionals. Attends industry meetings and participates in associations involved with the development of codes and standards that create demand for passive fire protection systems and Unifrax Products. The Application Engineer provides application engineering, technical service, and customer support for the sale of assigned products.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete application engineering requests.

  • Provide on-site field supervision to support fire testing programs and key customer projects.

  • Provide technical support to customers as requested, including creation of drawings

  • Completes technical service requests and writes reports as assigned

  • Maintain communication to build relationships with customers and Field Sales Engineers.

  • Provide product samples according to customer needs.

  • Develop presentation materials for educating customers on the use of assigned materials developed by Unifrax.

  • Conduct training seminars for new salespersons, distributors, customers, and industry professionals.

  • Attend industry meetings and participates in associations involved with the development of codes and standards that create demand for passive fire protection systems and Unifrax products.

    Qualifications:

  • Must be self-directed. Competence in personal time and project management are expected.

  • B.S. degree in engineering required. Mechanical engineering preferred

  • At least 1 year of work experience highly preferred, including internships and co-ops.

  • Excellent communication in verbal, written, interpersonal and sales skills. Fluency in other languages desirable.

  • Must have knowledge of AutoCAD.

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of systems for the management of applications engineering and technical service records.

  • 25% overnight travel, some international travel required.
