Robert Half Director/Manager Financial Reporting in Buellton, California

Description We are in search of a Director/Manager Financial Reporting to join our team in Buellton, California. This role primarily focuses on managing all accounting operational and financial close functions for various entities. The candidate will oversee the consolidation of all financial data for accurate reporting and will establish long-range priorities for operations and capital expenditures.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations, ensuring the accurate accumulation and consolidation of financial data.

• Implement consistent accounting policies, practices, and procedures across all programs while remaining up-to-date with federal, state, and local legal standards.

• Establish guidelines for budget and forecast preparation, and create the annual budget in consultation with various department directors.

• Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure they are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of when necessary.

• Act as a liaison between the organization and federal agencies regarding funding for programs.

• Coordinate activities in the accounting and billing department, ensuring standard accounting principles are met.

• Prepare and support the annual audit while ensuring accurate and timely financial statements are prepared in accordance with contract agreements with granting sources.

• Manage financial support services, eligibility for services, and collections provided to project activities.

• Oversee non-exempt department employees, including planning, assigning, and directing work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

• Provide relevant financial data including monthly results and variance reporting for budgetary and financial decisions.

• Manage grant award funding and drawdowns, and maintain bank signatory lists per the approved guidelines.

• Initiate ACH bank payments, including for intercompany distributions and settlements, bank transfers, and stop payments. Requirements • Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the finance sector.

• Proficiency in the use of Accounting Software Systems is required.

• Experience with ADP - Financial Services will be highly beneficial.

• Familiarity with BlackLine and EPS software is a plus.

• Should have a strong understanding of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.

• Ability to perform Accounting Functions is vital.

• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary.

• Auditing skills are essential for this role.

• Knowledge of Balance Sheet Account management is required.

• Experience in Budget Processes is desired.
