Role: Tax Solution Manager

Contract: Permanent Full Time

Location: Budapest

Within Opella you shall be the Indirect Tax expert for the group.

The purpose of Tax Solutions is to design and implement the tax core model that includes standardized processes across geographies. The role of Tax Solutions is critical to the success of the Tax function in Opella as it is the foundation on which the two objectives of the department is built on: tax compliance and tax efficiency. In practice, the role of Tax Solutions will be to improve the tax department’s life at work by delivering a large range of valued services to the whole tax function, leveraging transversal tax expertise and advanced skills around Tax Innovation and Process Excellence.

Key accountabilities:

• support & optimize the implementation of the Tax Target Operating Model as well as Core Model/RACI with Global Business Services (GBS), including;

• draft & develop Standard Operating Procedures in Indirect Tax;

• document Indirect Tax compliance requirements, primarily in Europe; and

• identify and implement standardization and simplification opportunities;

• maintain and monitor controls ensuring the Indirect Tax compliance of Opella.’s operations, including;

• contribute to the development & maintenance of Opella.'s tax control framework, in respect of Indirect Tax; and

• ensure that all Indirect Tax returns and other required reports prepared by GBS teams are accurately and on time submitted, in full compliance with the relevant local tax laws and regulations;

• assist in tax audits readiness in all jurisdictions, especially in the collecting and formatting all types of documents and information (in close collation with GBS teams that will produce tax compliance and supporting documentation); and

• address indirect tax queries from the business and assist in projects.

About you

• Deep knowledge of indirect taxes, in particular VAT

• Minimum 5-year experience in tax professional services, big 4 or in a multinational corporate environment

• Strong expertise data analytics as well as tax digital channels and tools

• Knowledge or expertise with data analytics tools

• Knowledge of SAP R3 and SAP S4HANA environment, tax setup, tax tables

• Proficient use of MS Excel

• Good understanding of tax accounting, knowledge of IFRS is an advantage

• Ability to collaborate across functions and adapt to changing internal dynamics

• High autonomy and strong transversal capabilities

• Excellent project management skills

• Ability to manage and execute multiple projects

• Strong interpersonal and networking skills

• Fluency in English
