Citigroup Stress Testing Business Analyst in Budapest, Hungary

As a Stress Testing Business Analyst you will support change initiatives and enhancements for the production of stress testing and capital calculations for annual and quarterly ICAAPs.

You will be joining the ICAAP Centre of Excellence that leads the way in setting the EMEA ICAAP framework and enhancing standards and processes. This drive for efficiency extends into governance as well as how we manage our compliance and operational controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the team with analytical skills and business analysis in regard to model implementation, processes and reporting

  • Produce documentation including BRDs and functional specifications, playbooks and procedures

  • Produce analysis for the production of quarterly and annual stress testing results for different risk types (e.g. market risk, CCR, CVA)

  • Collaborate across a variety of functions in Finance and Risk, IT teams and regulatory reporting, and the project management team across MLEs

  • Drive the implementation of changes front to end including UAT; support UAT

  • Support project management in tracking activities and progress, status reports and RAID logs

  • Support the ICAAP production managers in driving improvements and implement feedback for future submissions

  • Support the quarterly stressed capital forecasting. Be part of the team creating standardised processes for material and non-material legal entities

  • Contribute to defining and enhancing a strong control framework including variance analysis, ongoing validation, comprehensive process notes, and document controls, mapping reviews, reconciliations, and compliance with EUC standards

  • Good understanding of risk approaches (CCR, CVA and market risk) and European regulations as well as current developments including PRA and EBA (e.g., SREP, Stress Testing, Pillar 2, ICAAP)

  • Engage stakeholders including project sponsors and project managers, country CFOs / Controllers, CROs / Risk, regional managers, other CSC leads, and Technology seniors

  • Bring new ideas to the table for the benefit of Citi and propose implementation solutions.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the Bank’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Ideal background:

  • 8+ years of work experience in a risk, prudential or finance role within a financial institution

  • Strong knowledge of at least one Pillar 1 risk is essential – preferably good understanding of counterparty credit risk. Knowledge of Non-Pillar 1 risks (e.g., IRRBB, concentration and pension) would be beneficial.

  • Experience with ICAAP and stress testing

  • Strong communicator – both written and verbal

  • Interpersonal skills, ability to engage with stakeholders using the English language

  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills in particular MS Excel

  • Enthusiastic team player and at the same time a self-starter

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines, flexibility in case of unexpected changes in expectations or requirements

  • Excellent analytical skills and structural approach and thinking, ability to pay attention to detail

  • Efficient and effective time management, and proven organisational skills

  • Proven track record of having completed projects / tasks within tight deadlines
