Team/Role Overview

Through managing the day-to-day processes, Citi’s Procurement Department plays a pivotal role in supporting Citi’s mission. We are seeking a Procurement Category Manager to join our dynamic team.

You as a Market Data Procurement Manager ("PM") will be responsible for a large number of suppliers and contracts. We leverage a central team to renew most of our contracts, but you will be responsible for all aspects of commercial supplier management, including execution of new contracts and providing insight into the suppliers’ market data products and services.

You will work with legal, business stakeholders and suppliers to drive projects to completion.

While the role assumes a certain amount of autonomy, the team consists of a number of well experienced SME's who will provide assistance and guidance during the initial period to help you advance on the learning curve.

What you’ll do

The overall objective of your role is to ensure the seamless and uninterrupted delivery of market data services while managing cost increases.

  • Manage a substantial number of suppliers and contracts, and lead negotiation with suppliers and internal stakeholders (business, legal, etc).

  • Lead category sourcing projects, including supplier identification, tendering, request for proposals and supplier selection.

  • Manage the contract lifecycle, which include contract negotiations, contract drafting (work orders, statement of works, master agreements), contract renewals, contract renegotiations as well as oversee contracts/suppliers for compliance, deliverables, and opportunities.

  • Communicate with stakeholders to identify opportunities to reduce the total cost of ownership of the procurement process as well as negotiate agreements to minimize cost, risk and exposure, and provide optimal terms and conditions.

  • Monitor the supplier market and identify opportunities.

  • Support overall category management and strategic sourcing activities (benchmarking, gathering of market intelligence, definition of the longer-term book of work).

  • Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Business, Supplier and other subject matter experts.

  • Work globally with a focus on EMEA.

What we’ll need from you

  • 3-5 years of experience in a related role, preferably in a in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent communication skills in English – both verbal and written

  • Familiarity with Market Data suppliers, products, and services, contract management system

  • Basic understanding of third-party due diligence

  • Experience within contract and vendor management

  • Demonstrated business acumen, critical thinking and relationship building skills

  • Good analytical skills

  • Experience working within the parameters of set policies and procedures in a large multinational firm
