Firm Risk Management Central Regulatory Risk Function Associate

Firm Risk Management (FRM) supports Morgan Stanley to achieve its business goals by partnering with business units across the Firm to realize efficient risk-adjusted returns, acting as a strategic advisor to the Board and protecting the Firm from exposure to losses as a result of credit, market, liquidity, operational, model and other risks.

Background on the Position The role will reside within the Regulatory Risk Function that sits in Firm Risk Management’s (FRM) Chief Operating Office function. The Regulatory Risk Function is at the nexus of risk stripes globally and has several responsibilities that help to manage the regulatory risk faced by the department. It is responsible for managing regulatory exams relating to the Firms registered swap dealer entities and general tracking and reporting of progress against regulatory deliverables. Further, it coordinates advocacy and horizon-scanning efforts relating to new regulatory requirements and addresses associated business impact via self-assessments. Finally, it oversees the development of the FRM policy, procedure, and governance frameworks that bind these efforts together.

The ideal candidate will possess a willingness to learn about risk management, U.S. regulation and its business impact, and is a natural communicator who possesses fine attention to detail. This position offers an excellent opportunity for growth, providing exposure to all areas within FRM.

You will: -Prepare and analyze reporting for senior management to identify key themes or trends related to regulatory exams, internal audits, and department wide initiatives -Assist in coordinating Risk Control Self-Assessment execution across FRM -Project management on ad-hoc cross-FRM regulatory requests -Listen to calls with regulators and highlight emerging concerns to risk managers

You have*: -Bachelor’s degree required -Comfort communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, both written and verbally -High proficiency in PowerPoint and MS Excel, with an ability to analyse large datasets, distil conclusions and create dashboards -Experience performing and executing Risk Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and assisting with analysis as required -Strong problem solving skills, attention to detail and ability to provide information in comprehensible formats -Inquisitive with a focus on information sharing -Interested in balancing multiple projects effectively and delivering under tight deadlines -Ability to automate using VBA macros, Power BI is a plus
