Citigroup Finance Specialist – SWAT Team in Budapest, Hungary

We are looking for a talented Finance, Risk, or Reporting professional to join the Finance SWAT Team and go on business continuity assignments across various Finance teams. The SWAT team is an internal consulting unit serving Citi entities in the EMEA region. SWAT stands for “special weapons and tactics”, but instead of firearms, we rather use Python, KNIME and other digital tools to solve our problems.

The Business Continuity Team within SWAT responds to urgent situations, where a particular Finance team faces challenges and needs backup. These engagements would happen on a rotational basis, where you could be deployed to a range of teams to quickly get up to speed on their processes and ensure operational continuity.

In this position you will use and expand your experience and professional skills for the following responsibilities:

  • Act as a SWAT team member, who can be quickly deployed to assist BAU teams in times of need, be it the need for a backfill, or to ease their peak load times. These engagements are expected to happen on a rotational basis, and when no such situation arrives, you will be involved in project-type engagements.

  • Work in cooperation with various teams across Citi’s EMEA Finance Division, external consultants, and project specialists to rationalize and automate financial and regulatory reports, internal business processes, and management information systems

  • SWAT engagements are diverse in their nature so you will have exposure to a range of professional areas within Finance. However, the regulatory reporting space will be a recurring theme.

  • You will be expected to proactively contribute to the SWAT Team’s engagements by identifying and implementing process improvement initiatives and standardization ideas that increase productivity and efficiency, while reducing process cycle times and errors

  • Nobody knows everything, but you are expected to grow into a subject matter expert in a relevant professional area for SWAT, be it in financial risk management, regulatory reporting, Basel, CRR or other aspects of the regulatory policy domain

  • We are an agile, tech-savvy team, and would like you to contribute to the technical innovation effort to further improve our data management capabilities and process automation techniques

What we consider a potentially good mix of qualifications and skills:

  • This role is ideal for an individual with 3-4 years of relevant experience or above, but exceptions apply for special talents

  • Knowledge of financial markets, banking products, understanding of key concepts in finance, financial risk management (credit risk & market risk), and regulatory policy (Basel Accords, COREP, FINREP, CRR, and related topics) are considered important assets for this position

  • Financial Services Industry is preferred, but exceptions apply

  • Experience with reporting processes, regulatory reporting, and related projects is a big plus

  • Expert-level Excel skills with working experience in process automation is highly valued

  • Programming knowledge in any leading technology such as Python or Java, and familiarity with SQL is a strong plus

  • Experience with data transformation tools, data analytics platforms such as KNIME and/or Power BI would be nice to have

  • A very proactive, helpful, and problem-solving attitude is considered ideal
