Global Controls Office (GCO)
The Product Control Global Controls Office (GCO) team focuses on the full suite of controls that affect all ICG Markets business lines and products, across the Product Control function.
The candidate will be part of a team responsible for global coordination of all areas of Product Control policy, procedures, controls, and governance driving change and improvement within a key area for Citi. The GPO team maintains a global footprint with teams in NAM, EMEA, LATAM and APAC. The team also includes Policies and Procedures, Controls and Audit and Regulatory Oversight, SOX and Conformance Testing workstreams to address global issues.
GO provides leadership and execution support on various critical Citi Control Initiatives impacting the firm with a focus on execution across the firm’s Institutional Client Group (ICG). This specialized group is responsible for managing broad initiatives, primarily for the North America Product Controllers group.
The successful candidate will have a strong controls background, analytical skills, Product Control skills and communication skills.
Finance Product Control Senior Analyst - SOX
In this role, the candidate will be a member of GCO team who will collaborate with partners in Product Control as well as with key stakeholders including but not limited to Regulators, Internal Audit, External Audit, Front Office, Middle Office, Risk, Operations, Technology, Operations and other Finance functions to execute Product Control’s responsibilities and mission statement. The individual is also responsible for proactively driving the design and adoption of best-in-class controls, process optimization and innovation projects across the broader Product Control organization.
Role provides opportunity to influence the critical control initiatives and financial reporting, inclusive of, but not limited to:
SOX & Issue Management : Work with the SOX and Audit & Regulatory Oversight Workstream to create synergies involving controls reporting requirements, enhancements, designing key risk indicators, and instituting a control framework to ensure compliance with Global Policies. This role would participate in the global and regional SOX fora to obtain understanding on new topics impacting SOX and communicate these to relevant stakeholders. Additionally, this role would also provide support on the completion of periodic control review assessment on the SOX related controls.
Managers Control Assessments (MCA): Contributor to creation, review and maintenance of controls, policies and monitoring to identify potential concerns and ensure alignment with Citi’s risk programs. This key function involves compliance with Global Operational Risk Management Policy, reporting control effectiveness metrics across broader Finance organization and ensuring appropriate management and assessment of various risk assessment units within Product Control. This role would also play a critical function in performing and reporting the quarterly and annual risk assessment of the Global Product Control Group.
Operational Risk & SAB 99/108 Event Reporting : Partner with Operational Risk Management organization, Corporate Regulatory Reporting and Accounting Policy teams ICG Risk organization and in-business risk teams to support on operational risk event capture and reporting for qualifying events.
Control Performance Metrics : Create, design, and report monthly metrics with global asset class and regional leads. This involves designing key risk and performance indicators and evaluating suitability in conjunction with broader product control function
Coordinate with team members and finance partners to implement controls, mitigate risks while maximizing process effectiveness and efficiencies.
Coordinate with other team members and finance partners to proactively work on process improvements with an emphasis on strengthening controls.
Support inquiries from local regulators, internal and external audit and regional Finance peers as a Policy and Controls subject matter expert
Embed a culture of effective challenge, maintain a robust control environment, as well as timely and transparent communication of insightful financial analysis
Help to actively manage and drive improvements in the process
Participate in issue resolutions and drive change by building networks and partnering with peers throughout Finance and other areas of the organization
Bachelor’s degree / Master’s Degree
Minimum 3+ years of experience within the Finance sector, preferably within risk and controls function
Experience dealing with senior governance and leadership forums as well as second, and third line control functions
Experience in process improvement, process mapping, quality standards, and/or building best practice process/tools preferred; pro-active process improvement and efficiency mindset essential
Demonstrates strong stakeholder and team-management experience to drive change in a cross functional environment
Strong controls mindset; identifying and mitigating risks, communicating and escalating concerns
Demonstrable project and change management skills
Strong communication skills, ability to effectively present/influence large groups, ability to assess and critically challenge information and processes, delivering appropriate outcomes
Competence leading dynamic, challenging environments while providing creative solutions
Ability to collaborate across businesses, regions and control functions
