Citigroup ESG Reporting Manager in Budapest, Hungary

The E nvironmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Reporting Manager will be responsible for collating and analysing data to support sustainability reporting against multiple ESG frameworks and regulations applicable for EMEA entities including TCFD, EU taxonomy regulation and many others.

ESG Reporting Manager

This role is member of the newly established EMEA ESG reporting team, which is responsible for data collection and assistance in the preparation of mandatory and voluntarily sustainability disclosures for EMEA legal entities. The EMEA ESG reporting team works closely with other areas of Citi, including Sustainability & ESG, Accounting Policy, Statutory reporting and Risk.


  • Contribute to special projects in developing ESG and sustainability reporting methodologies and support the preparation of ESG disclosures in line with applicable standards and regulations

  • Assisting in developing ESG and sustainability data quality and availability

  • Assist with data collection, analysis and reporting across a range of ESG metrics

  • Monitor emerging, global and EMEA ESG trends, frameworks and regulations to advance the disclosures of EMEA entities

  • Work closely with internal partners across the firm on sustainability and ESG-related reporting

  • Collaborate with local EMEA teams in responding to local regulatory requirements in relation to Climate Risk/ESG management practices

  • Stay abreast of emerging ESG trends in EMEA

  • Other duties in connection with the role as assigned or requested

  • 1-2 years experience in sustainability and ESG reporting, overall 5-7 years experience in reporting roles (environmental statistics, controlling, finance, auditing).

  • Demonstrate interest in ESG, climate risk reporting and related areas

  • Understanding of ESG disclosure trends and best practices is an advantage

  • Familiarity with TCFD, SASB and GRI standards and EMEA regulations for sustainability reporting is an advantage


  • Bachelor’s degree/Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics. Degree related to sustainability-related field is an advantage.

Skill /Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical skills, proficient in Excel and comfortable analysing large datasets

  • Demonstrated ability to work well within a team while also a successful self-starter and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong research and investigative skills, ability to evaluate and assess complex topics and creatively problem-solve

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Ability to interpret and implement ESG frameworks and regulations

  • Familiarity with SQL and experience with data transformation tools, data analytics platforms such as KNIME and/or Power BI is an advantage
