Citigroup Business Analyst in Budapest, Hungary

The Other Citi Markets team are tasked with reviewing and improving the funding and liquidity arrangements across all the product lines in Markets. OCM contains many funding items that are not allocated out to specific business lines so this team works with stakeholders across Markets and Corporate Treasury to design and implement transparent processes to allocate any marginal costs/benefits to the appropriate business segments and incentivise optimum business practices. As part of this, the team also works in partnership with Treasury and the Markets businesses to analyse and optimise our liquidity risk management activities. The team provides thought leadership and governance while driving revenue optimizations for Citi Markets. Revenue optimizations are achieved via transaction structuring, data modeling, transfer pricing, and rule interpretation. Additionally, the team focuses on developing business funding strategy, modelling future resource usage, and managing the business against targets. All aspects of liquidity management are run in close coordination with Citi’s Treasury, Finance, and Risk organizations.

This group also consolidates the material collateral management activities across the OTC businesses in Markets, rather than have the various Markets businesses manage their own collateral in silos, and undertakes collateral management activities to ensure the Markets business meets its regulatory and contractual IM and VM obligations while also optimising collateral and where possible driving collateral monetisation opportunities.

The position will report to a London and Budapest based manager and work closely with colleagues based in London and New York.

Responsibilities:

  • Work as an integral part of the advisory team to develop optimization solutions

  • Support business efforts in liquidity planning and funding strategy

  • Analyse position- and portfolio-level data (financial, liquidity and returns metrics)

  • Design, produce, and systematize reporting

  • Produce materials for management presentations as needed

  • Work in close partnership with control functions such as Legal, Compliance, Market and Credit Risk, Audit, Finance in order to ensure appropriate governance and control infrastructure

  • Build a culture of responsible finance, good governance and supervision, expense discipline and ethics

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years relevant experience in a financial services firm

  • Demonstrated quantitative and analytical skills

  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work under pressure in a highly professional Front Office environment

  • Ability to coordinate processes and work as part of multiple teams across a firm

  • Knowledge of Citi’s infrastructure is a plus

  • Programming experience (e.g. SQL, Python, etc.) and familiarity with large scale data is a plus

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree
