About this role

The Portfolio Analytics Group (PAG) within Aladdin Financial Engineering (AFE) delivers actionable insights to our investment and client-facing teams, grounded in our proficiency of Aladdin data, technology, and processes. PAG collaborates with investors, risk managers, portfolio consultants and client-facing sales and relationship management teams to address clients’ challenges with innovative analytics and technical solutions - delivered with the scale of Aladdin across all asset classes and client segments. We ensure successful, high impact delivery of results aligned with our stakeholders’ priorities

We are seeking an experienced Associate to join our Asset Allocation Analytics team in Budapest:

  • PAG Asset allocation Analytics (AAA) partners with BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) business in building solutions using a broad range of advanced analytics and/or data science methods to curate insights to help make data-driven decisions in the fields of funds research, portfolio construction and portfolio management.

  • Private market analytics within AAA will focus on bridging eFront/Aladdin Platforms to the portfolio management, construction and research performed on behalf of Multi Asset Solution business and clients. A good knowledge of the private markets as well as the eFront platform will be a plus.

  • GenAI Initiatives are currently underway, but we are currently looking at how we can scale the business, introduce efficiencies in processes, as well as uncover new insights from the data around us.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with MASS partners to incorporate research, data and analytic solutions into workflows and decision processes, specifically around the domains of Multi Private Assets, as well as GenAI

  • Design, incubate and prototype solutions and partner with technology teams to evolve tactical deliverables into scalable products that can be offered commercially on Aladdin

  • Partner with the MASS Lab Engineers to turn incubated prototypes into strategic tools that can be later commercialised onto Aladdin

  • Apply strong project management and communication skills to all product responsibilities: set agenda, drive tone, provide direction to individual team members, coordinate execution, and communicate out to partners

  • Serve as an ambassador for our solutions externally with clients and participate in business development activities

  • Build inclusive teams across the community of internal groups and influence key partners and project sponsors to achieve greater consensus

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years in a highly analytical role in a technology or financial services setting

  • Strong critical thinking and confirmed experience using technology to solve problems at scale

  • Outstanding academic achievement, degree in business, computer science, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics or other quantitative field of study

  • Relentless desire for understanding how processes work. Creativity in solving unconventional problems, entrepreneurial drive to learn new skills and technologies.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Python (pandas, numpy, streamlit/dash), SQL, and UNIX. Experience with ML models, including LLMs a plus.

  • Superior communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts simply and clearly

  • Ability and willingness to learn fast, multi-task, self-motivate and pick up new things easily

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment

  • Experience in working with one or more asset classes (e.g., fixed income, equities, alternatives, ETFs, etc.) a plus

  • Experience in product and project management is a big plus. Ability to structure multiple communication streams and manage workflows, as well as time management skills are required.
