Kuehne+Nagel Business Controller in Bucuresti, Romania

We are looking for a solution-oriented and passionate Business Controller with growth mindset for our Road Logistics Team.

Your Role

As a Business Controller you are the linking pin between the operation or the business itself and the finance department. Your analysis helps us to improve our results on a strategic-tactical level as well as in daily business. It concerns an independent, varied position in which you can combine your analytical skills and financial insight in a substantive advisory role to the business. With plenty of room for your progressive insights and ideas.

Your Responsibilities

  • Timely and accurate delivery of monthly figures, forecasts and budgets, which trigger the right actions;

  • Participating in month-end closing and year-end closing processes (P&L, working capital);

  • Analyzing and monitoring gross margin analysis per customer and shipment;

  • Making P&L and KPI reports and analyzes for the relevant units;

  • Follow-up with stakeholders on the monthly deviations of the costs;

  • Prepare the data for the reclassification of costs and coordinate with Accounting department;

  • Sharing files efficiently free of errors, performing quality and content checks;

  • Extraction and aggregation of data (various and ad-hoc reports);

  • Perform controlling ad-hoc tasks ensuring quality input for the management;

  • Support the team with improving existing templates, global standard settings and harmonization among the existing reports;

  • Take part in the month-end closing process supporting local accounting in the production of management reports;

  • Investigate the reasons for differences between the planned and actual results, highlighting to superior management impact on the business;

  • Maintain the budgeting existing systems, improve and update tools and data flow.

Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance;

  • 5+ years experience in a similar position (i.e. commercial finance/exposure to full P&L view);

  • Experience working in the Transport and Logistics industry with a proven understanding of the business;

  • Outstanding know-how of finance, controlling and reporting processes;

  • Very good Microsoft Office skills (MS Excel is a must – pivot, large databases, charts, different functions);

  • Fluent English written and spoken.
