Weigh trucks and assist with customer needs, and monitor pit functions. Typical work schedule will be Monday through Saturday, 60-70 hours per week during full scale operation depending on seasonal conditions.
General education, grammar and arithmetic, GED or high school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical and background check.
JWS knowledge a plus.
Essential Duties and/or Responsibilities:
An individual in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential functions. These examples DO NOT include all of the tasks, which the individual may be expected to perform.
Weigh trucks and make tickets.
Record information accurately.
Take customer orders, work with dispatch making sure customers receive correct material and tonnages.
Report proper billing information.
Answer and make phone calls and work on two way radio system.
Communicate with dispatch and truck drivers.
Must be able to complete reports from the day’s work of JWS, down time, cost tracking
time keeping, safety committee minutes, required record keeping for M.S.H.A. etc.
Assist new employees.
Accurate reporting on time card and other needed reports.
Communicate effectively with co-workers
Assist quality control task while scale house is not busy.
Must be able to wear steel toed boots, safety glasses and additional PPE when required.
Timely and regular attendance is essential.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of two way radio systems.
Knowledge of materials and ability to identify.
Ability to work with difficult people under high stress situations.
Ability to demonstrate listening, organizational and multi task skills.
Ability to maintain positive customer relations.
Ability to work in a team setting with limited supervision.
Ability to communicate well with others and act courteous and respectful of others.
Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems.
Sitting or standing for extended period of time.
Lift and carry up to 40 pounds several times a day.
Hand eye coordination.
Ability to perform consistently while doing repetitious work.
Ability to work in high stress situations.
Ability to communicate effectively with multiple parties simultaneously.
Recognition of surroundings, including equipment and traffic awareness.
Visual recognition of types and quality of material.
This position will remain open until 07/31/2021 or until the position is filled.
