As our surgical services nurse at St. Joseph Health, you will prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist in the operating room to ensure they receive excellent nursing when they are at their most vulnerable.
Every day you will go over consent forms, answer questions about the procedure, do preoperative assessments, make sure the equipment is ready to go, and update family members on the surgery status during the operation. You will be expected to directly assist the surgeon during the actual surgery.
To be successful in this role you must have the ability to maintain focus while multitasking, remain calm under pressure, and exercise good judgment in emergency situations.

Responsibilities
Assist surgeon and surgical team in the OR
Care for patients before, during, and after procedures
Develop and implement nursing care plan for surgical patients
Ensure operating rooms are prepped with all necessary equipment and supplies
Demonstrate a high level of compassion for patients
We are offering a $20,000 Sign On Bonus in addition to relocation to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements.
Qualifications
Associates Degree in Nursing
1 Year RN work experience, experience in Surgery preferred
Active RN license in good standing with the Texas State Board of Nursing
American Heart Association BLS
Pay Range
$28.50 - $43.46 /hour
