We are looking for:

The Global Trade EMEA Operations manager ensures the highest level of compliance with customs and trade regulations. He/She contributes to generating value for our group by boosting our businesses’ trade lanes performance and cash by means of a robust operating model and a strong governance with other functions. He/she supports the deployment of our Global Trade forward-looking strategy that allows for future-proof agility against external trade disruptions and internal evolutions. The Global Trade EMEA Operations manager reports into the Global Trade EMEA leader.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Compliant, in-time, error-free export and import activities

  • Efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the Global Trade activities in the assigned perimeter

  • Continuous improvement of the Global Trade performance

  • Well trained and motivated people

  • Stay updated about own domain

  • Stay updated about all relevant laws, rules and regulations affecting global trade activities, within the EMEA perimeter.

  • Anticipate any key changes in the regulatory environment

  • Maintain solid knowledge about the GBU business

  • Stay updated about trends and developments within the supply chain and global trade domain

  • Define, deploy and monitor strategies, policies and standards

  • Deploy (globally- and regionally-defined) global trade strategies, policies, and standards.

  • Organize, coordinate, manage and/or improve global trade activities

  • Coordinate transversal topics / projects within the EMEA region

  • Operational support EMEA regional managers in the customs control tower activities

  • Support with internal customs system operational activities

  • Track and report key global trade metrics within own perimeter

  • Insure backup of EMEA regional global trade team

  • Insure internal controls within global trade regional permeter

  • Manage and coordinate with external and internal partners

  • Maintain regular contact with service providers (customs brokers, external consultants, freight forwarders)

  • Coordinate global trade activities with all internal stakeholders (tax, procurement, controlling, industrial management, legal, etc.) as per internal governance model.

You will bring:

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in economics, law, international trade, supply chain or similar

  • Post-master in Customs Law or similar is a real asset

  • +6 years experience in Global Trade and customs operations

  • Excellent communicator (written and orally)

  • Experience in coordination of transversal global trade projects

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Hands-on

  • Ability to work autonomously
