Grande Maintenance Manager II - 1st Shift in Brownsville, Wisconsin

Position Summary:

Demonstrated leadership and management of maintenance activities and improvement projects in support of plant operational needs and goals. Manages annual plant maintenance budget. Participates in the capital planning process. Identifies opportunities to improve and provide cost effective solutions. Accountable for safety, quality, continuous improvement and performance of the facility. Positively promote Grande’s mission and culture.

Position Details:

  1. Talent Management
  • Advocates for effective execution of the performance management process by collaborating with direct report/s to set clear objectives, goals and expectations.

  • Conducts regular coaching and constructive feedback discussions to review performance and goal progress, assist with challenges, and identify strengths and development areas, all to support Associate professional and career development, while increasing engagement and motivation.

  • Supports workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies by effectively staffing and hiring diverse talent for the organization.

  • Addresses Associate relations and performance issues in a timely manner and/or makes appropriate decisions relative to performance challenges.

  1. Continuous Improvement of Plant and Quality Performance
  • Typically responsible for larger single or multiple facilities with more complex operations.

  • Also responsible for managing a larger group of Maintenance Associates including Supervisors and/or other salaried or professional level positions. Supervise the continuous improvement/optimization of the cheese (make or convert) and whey processes, with a focus on a proactive PM based structure and down time minimization.

  • Collaborate with production departments on resolution of issues concerning facilities and equipment.

  • Develop and track KPI's to ensure workflow process is driving asset reliability.

  • Manages annual plant maintenance budget.

  • Participates in the capital planning process.

  • Identifies opportunities to improve and provide cost effective solutions.

  • Responsible for identifying/managing outside vendors participating in plant and grounds maintenance activities.

  • Compile and maintain factual information on plant facilities.

  • Responsible for facility permits, i.e. annual boiler inspections, back flow preventers.

  • Implement plant maintenance, GMP, and safety training programs and ensure completion by the Maintenance Associates.

  • Orchestrate plant shutdown projects and key maintenance initiatives.

  • Assure all process equipment meets all regulatory requirements as well as Grande standards.

  • Owner of TPR (Total Process Reliability) process for the facility.

  1. Project Management
  • Responsible for the scope, logistics, and execution of minor capital projects for the facility.

  • Develops designs and prepares capital requests and justifications for improvement projects.

  • Develops and manages project schedules and budget with-in approved limits.

  • Develops plans and specifications, writes requests for quotations, evaluates bids, and oversees fabrication and construction. Responsible for achieving budget, schedule, and goals established for projects.

  • Participate in project team for integration of larger capital projects, through liaison and interaction with the corporate engineering group and the facility.

  • Provides liaison on project, facilities and equipment with regulatory agencies. Bachelors Degree required.
