Job Summary

The Procurement and Planning Manager is responsible for overseeing all activities related to the supply of raw materials, finished products and services necessary for the proper functioning of the company. He/she must also ensure that production planning is in line with the needs of the company, while optimizing costs and meeting deadlines. This position involves an international dimension, standardization of business processes, and strong integration with the global supply chain.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Supply Management:

  • Develop and implement international procurement strategies.

  • Follow up on orders and manage relationships with suppliers.

  • Control stock levels and optimize inventories.

Production Planning:

  • Develop production plans based on sales and production capacities.

  • Coordinate with production, logistics and customer service departments to ensure product availability.

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor stock levels to avoid stock-outs and surpluses.

  • Implement performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of inventory management processes.

  • Analyze data to anticipate needs and adjust inventory levels.

Continuous Improvement and Standardization:

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement and planning processes.

  • Standardize business processes across all business entities.

  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to resolve issues and improve performance.

Team Management:

  • Supervise and support the procurement and planning team.

  • Set clear goals and measure team performance.

Skills and Minimum Experience Required

Techniques :

  • Strong understanding of procurement processes and international supply chain management.

  • In-depth knowledge of production planning and inventory management techniques.

  • Proficient in ERP tools and supply chain management software.

Interpersonal:

  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a team and coordinate with different departments.

  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Production Management, or related field.

  • Bilingual French and English: To serve clients and external service providers across Canada and USA

  • Significant work experience in a similar role, preferably in a production environment.

  • Certificate in Supply Chain Management (such as CPSM or APICS) is an asset.

This position requires a combination of technical and managerial skills, as well as the ability to adapt to an ever-changing and international environment. The Procurement and Planning Manager plays a crucial role in the operational success of the company by ensuring effective supply management and production planning.
