Intermountain Health Region Service Line Director Ortho Musculoskeletal in Broomfield, Colorado

Job Description:

The Region Service Line Director will collaborate in a triad partnership with a physician leader and a clinical leader to guide and deliver on Intermountain Health’s vision of extraordinary care for the service line across the Peaks region. The director is equally responsible for achieving service line goals and strategic initiatives as directed by the regional executive team (RET), service line governance body, and in coordination with market hospital and medical group senior operations leaders. In addition, the director will manage and oversee key projects throughout the region and work collaboratively between hospitals, medical group, other clinical programs/service lines and other regions as necessary to ensure leading and best practices are in place. This position supports system-wide initiatives related to data, continuous improvement, integration, efficiency, project implementation, and overall organization as it relates to achieving KPI’s and aligning the region with the system.

The orthopedic musculoskeletal regional director is accountable for managing and achieving the goals and strategic initiatives of the service line across acute and ambulatory functions and will report to the Region Vice President of Medical Group Operations

This is an exempt, full-time position located in the Front Range of Colorado (Denver Metro area) with a correct salary range of $66.41 - $102.52 and as determined by years of relevant experience. This role will allow you to work a mostly remote schedule, periodically sharing time in the Broomfield, CO office and in a work from home capacity. The qualified candidate must live in or relocate to either Colorado or Montana. To show our commitment to you and assist with your transition into our organization, we may offer a sign-on and relocation bonus when applicable.

With this position, you are eligible to participate in an annual pay-for-performance opportunity (“AP4P”). This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Intermountain Health Board-approved goals.

As the Regional Service Line Director you will:

  • Aggregate data, review, and recommend quality measures, improvements, accreditations, and awards for the service line.

  • Facilitate strategic plan for the service line and engage triad partners, stakeholders, leaders, and caregivers in initiatives to drive achievement.

  • Lead service line/clinical program initiatives as well as system-wide initiatives as needed.

  • Develop, maintain, and distribute market level service line meeting/committee agendas, action plans, and associated action items.

  • Manage data, reports, and reporting systems relevant to the service line and ensures execution on the Intermountain operating model.

  • Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders and leaders to ensure execution of and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.

  • Support hospital, ambulatory/medical group senior operational leaders with capital and operational budget targets and effective management of expenses including FTE resources.

  • Lead continuous improvement and communication of key performance indicators for the service line.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop provider recruitment strategies / plans and optimal staffing models.

  • Coordinate with senior leaders and key stakeholders in performing coaching, development, and performance management, and perform administrative duties as required.

  • Collaborate with leaders to create and maintain a positive work environment that fosters a highly engaged workforce and create engagement, participation, and enthusiasm for a 'One Intermountain' vision for the service line/clinical program.

  • Support all activities for compliance with federal, state, and other regulatory bodies including the Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, DOPL, and other department specific accrediting and certifying bodies.

  • Ensure contract compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and laws and ensure compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws.

  • Lend support in physician recruitment and create an environment of high engagement.

  • Work locally with physicians to move the organization forward strategically and operationally.

  • Influence and collaborate with key stakeholders and leaders to ensure goals around patient satisfaction and engagement are met or exceeded and that patient satisfaction is high and patient care is extraordinary.

  • Cultivate strong relationships with clinical and operational senior leaders.

  • Organize and manage multiple and completing priorities, schedules, along with various committee structures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified

  • Seven years of experience in a progressively responsible leadership position within the healthcare industry is required

  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Must have a willingness and ability to travel

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA - or - MHA

  • Five years of experience as an Operations Officer within the healthcare industry

  • Clinical experience relevant to service line preferred

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$60.73 - $111.37
